Transmutation News – March 2015

transmutation news march 2015 1200x630

One metaphor I often use is that we are musical instruments playing in the orchestra of life. This is a metaphor that many teachers use as it really touches a truth about our vital role in being part of a world community.

It is crucial for us to reflect on how we can fine tune ourselves to share the music that contributes to raising the vibration of the collective field and also creates harmonious notes that combine together in beauty and love.

The block to doing this continues to be how we get distracted by people and events in the outer world.  It is not just the news stories that continue to distract us. The distractions come in as there is such a wealth of books, audio and video lectures, and teachings that are now available to all.

On one level this is wonderful, and we can learn so much. But it has also created a lot of “spiritual surfers”. I strongly believe that the challenges we are now facing on the planet call for people to go as deep into a practice as they can go.

There is of course the need to be exposed to different types of spiritual work and a wealth of spiritual teachings. But at what point do you feel that a path calls to you and decide to stay on the path with focus?

Last month I suggested that you find one simple practice to engage in until it becomes who you are. This is what I mean by fine tuning. For as we become the work and stop seeing our spiritual life as separate from our ordinary life that is where positive change happens in your life and in the world.

And I use the word “simple” in a way that does not refer to practices for beginners. It refers to practices that speak to your heart and soul and do not just speak to your mind. For I find that when people want to perform complex practices their minds get fed, but change might not happen on a cellular level. If you have to focus on the steps instead of on the work, you are too distracted to be the bridge between the invisible and the tangible realms.

As you all know I began teaching Medicine for the Earth in 2000. I have taught the work in the Transmutation News, in many of my books, on audio lectures, interviews, and at conferences.

After I started teaching Five Day Medicine for the Earth Gatherings many participants from my groups would gather together once a year for reunions in Santa Fe. At first, I attended the reunions as it was so wonderful to join a circle devoted to working in behalf of all of life.

At some point due, to the intensity of my teaching schedule, I moved away from attending the reunions. The reunions continued for years and participants continued to share the work they were doing, and the circle continued to bond and deepen.

One year the two friends contacted me to ask me if I would come back to the reunion to help the group explore the next level of the work. I was honored to be asked and immediately said, “Yes”.

I journeyed to my spiritual teacher Isis who had been a source of inspiration in writing Medicine for the Earth: How to Transform Personal and Environmental Toxins. Together with the guidance of Isis, Osiris, and Anubis I had developed the work.

I asked Isis if she could give me exercises or practices to share in the reunion. Her response was that working with light and unconditional love is the key to personal and global transformation. She said it was not that the group needed new, updated, and more complex practices. She said that the group needed to recommit and rededicate themselves to integrating the work fully into daily life.

She advised me to show up to the reunion and teach the Five Day Medicine for the Earth Training again and have people reflect on how much they were living the work.

The point I am trying to make is that we distract ourselves by thinking there is a more powerful “method” or “technique”. We forget the key is that we are the instrument for the divine and we have to fine tune ourselves as the instrument.

Shamans have always worked with light to heal. In their initiations shamans are filled with light and have some experience of a transcendent state of oneness giving them their psychic and healing abilities. This opens the shaman to the world of spirit.

And how shamans have continued to be the instrument of the power of the universe, the divine, and the compassionate spirits is by entering into an ecstatic state where the shaman loses his or her sense of separation and steps aside from ego and personality.

Shamans have and still do this by engaging in long periods of drumming, rattling, singing, dancing, and spending extended times alone in nature.

Shamans step fully into the invisible realms in order to bring through the magic, beauty, healing, power, and new dreams into the tangible realms and into manifest form. They also practice deep listening in nature and watch for omens and signs. They are always “tuned in” and dream with their full body.

Take the time to do the preparation work needed to bridge the healing and power from the invisible realms into the tangible realms. Step away from our social conditioning to embrace a bigger dream that includes the belief that we are unlimited in what we can manifest through spiritual work.

We can get lost in looking for that magical “cure” that will create positive change without realizing that “we” are the magical cure.

And I wonder how loud and intense the wake-up call has to get. A teaching shared in many indigenous stories is, “We are the ones we are waiting for”.

march 2015 1200x630

As we move into spring or fall, we enter into a new season in nature and in life. I ask that you review the practices you have learned over the years. And take some time and walk in nature or sit in silence. Reflect on how deep you have delved into the practices and all the spiritual teachings you have learned. Honestly ask yourself if you are surfing the surface waves of your work? Are you living the work minute to minute? Do you separate your spiritual life and practices from your daily life? Can you laugh at yourself and love yourself when you fall off the path? How committed are you to deepen the work and become it?

Commit to working with the power of imagination. Imagination is dismissed by many, and it is not understood that our imagination fuels our psychic abilities. For as you engage your imagination you stir your psychic invisible senses to call something into your life and physical world and release that which does not serve you. I had a dream one night in February where I received a transmission of the power of this teaching. The teaching was absorbed by my cells but difficult to find words for.

In February I gave a free introductory lecture through the Shift Network titled “Shamanic Journeying for Community Healing: How Shamanic Practices Can Heal Families, Communities, and Nations”. The call was too short for me to be able to share the depth of what I wanted to share. But to everyone’s amazement about 13,000 people signed up for this lecture. Just the interest alone is a wonderful sign of the desire to work together to heal our communities and the world. There was a palpable energy of love and beauty in our collective field that I know rippled throughout the web of life.

From a shamanic point of view, we are all going through an initiation. The planet is going through an initiation. We are being asked to shed or burn away our old identity and old ways of living that no longer serve us personally, all of life, and the Earth.

And as I have shared previously, it is our spirit that guides and carries us through any initiation. We have to let the depth of spirit guide us now. We have to let go of our mental distractions. It is time to become the work.

We need to join together in spirit, beyond ego and personality, to support each other and stand strong together. There is so much we can do together as a strong devoted spiritual collective working together on behalf of all of life and the Earth.

But we must fully open ourselves to the world of spirit and spin threads of beauty, love, light, honor, respect, equality, peace, and abundance for all from the invisible realms into the tangible realms. That is how a new fabric of reality will be dreamed into being.

The full moon is March 5. Let us spin into being a human web of light and love that contributes to the new dream of the Earth. Do your preparation work and let go of your distractions. Fully inhabit your body and engage your senses as you experience your divine light and be that finely tuned instrument that sings the song of light, love, peace, and harmony within and throughout this great Earth.

If you are a new reader of the Transmutation News please visit “Creating A Human Web of Light” to read the instructions for our monthly full moon ceremonies.

We are mostly water and we live on a planet that is mostly water. The element of water connects us all. As we do our spiritual work together, we can change the vibration of our inner waters. This change in vibration will be reflected back to us by the outer waters that flow through the Earth. We can create an immense amount of positive change and healing by harmonizing together the molecules of our inner water!

On March 20 we celebrate the equinox. We welcome in spring in the Northern Hemisphere and fall in the Southern Hemisphere.

To celebrate the equinox, connect with a body of water. You can do this through a shamanic journey or meditation and sit with a body of water you travel to in the invisible realms. This would be a Middle World experience.  Or you can physically go into nature and sit by a body of water. As you sit with this body of water feel your inner water harmonizing energetically just as you would harmonize and connect with the heartbeat of the Earth.

Find a song or chant that shifts and heightens your vibration. Listen to the song or chant of the water you are sitting with. Attune your vibration to the song of your inner water and the outer body of water you are connecting with. Let us focus on the waters within and without that connect us all.  As we all do this together the vibration of all “our inner and outer waters” will harmonize together. Imagine what healing this will bring to all of us and to the planet. Let the vibration of our collective field of energy be changed by the harmonizing Water within and without.

Let us join together to wish all in the web of life a beautiful and joyous equinox!

In February I woke up with a beautiful insight that I want to share with you:

Even when a star in the sky is invisible to our eyes it is still shining.

You are a human walking star. You are shining all the time!

Dear Sandra and Community,

In response to your invitation to share what has had an impact, made a difference in my life, in life, I offer the following.

I must say that to share one story or practice is like trying to separate the air that I breathe.  Having meditated and merged with the element of fire, I feel the heat, the smoldering in my body, the spark of inspiration that shoots from the eternal flame in my heart.  Although it appears as a single, separate spark, it is seeded or born from the eternal flame of life.

Another practice that grows within me is feeling myself as a strand, a jewel in the vortex of the web of life.  I love connecting with the web, with all of us who reflect the light in each other.  It is so beautiful and gives me a feeling of belonging and solidness; a place to land and rest before going back out into the world, the marketplace.

Also, connecting with the spirit of the land is grounding and again feels me into belonging to this beautiful universe.  I do this wherever I live, as I have moved around a bit.  I do this when I travel.  I tune into the heartbeat of our earth and all my helpers and guides in all forms.  It is magical and very real.

While under stress a few years ago, I retreated to the shore for a solitary summer weekend. After checking in I went directly out to the beach. The wind was howling and the waves were crashing. Even though there were other vacationers on the beach, the songs of nature were loud enough to squelch even my own reluctance to address spirit directly. Standing tall, my chin up and my arms out wide to receive, I asked spirit, “What do you have for me?” I then dropped my head and my eyes fell directly to a shark’s tooth lying on top of the sand.

I picked up the gift and smiled. I held its smooth blackness in my hands and contemplated the shark. Shark must move constantly to remain alive. It travels confidently through dark waters. Though it is very powerful, Shark doesn’t use its power to consume everything in its path. It feeds on specific queues.

This gave me much to consider. Am I just sitting down in the dark? Perhaps I should keep moving? OK, maybe it’s dark at the moment. Keep moving to brighter waters. How am I using my power? Am I consuming everyone in my path? Perhaps I should give greater consideration to how I engage others along my path.

The tooth remains upon my altar, even today. It’s both smooth and sharp. I endeavor to learn to respect and handle myself as carefully as I respect and handle the gift of the shark’s tooth. I am thankful for both the gift of the shark’s tooth and the gift of life.

Since then, instead of waiting until I’m in a dark place, I regularly address spirit asking, “What do you have for me?” It’s amazing what will result from being present with and receptive to spirit.

Transmutation News – November 2013

transmutation news november 2013 1200x630

Being on a spiritual path is not always easy. For the truth of the matter is that when we are truly on a spiritual path we are driven by spirit and not by our personality and ego.

But we are human beings with a personality, ego, mind, and body. And these aspects lead us to experiencing great joy and but also lead to experiencing states of suffering. For when we perceive the world through the eyes of ego the world is not looking so good. Life is falling apart all around us. The climate is changing to such a degree that we are watching mass changes to the earth right now impacting not just humans but all of life. I don’t need to share what is happening in political and economical arenas, as this is obvious. And the violent behavior of humans toward each other and the rest of life is not what we would like to see continue.

Then we do our spiritual work. And once we are in contact with our spirit, we leave the arena of duality and move into a place of oneness. From this place of divine light and love everything looks different. For in the arena of spirit there is no judgement or imperfection. It is what it is, and spirit accepts the changes that are leading to evolution and growth.

Here lies the paradox. How to do we see the divinity in floods, drought, cyclones, war, violence, etc? And do we just sit and say that everything is in divine perfection so I should not care, worry, or take any action? The answer to this is no.

Human beings have not been taking care of the earth, which is the body that we live on. Consider your own body. If you continue to put toxins into it and do not take care of it at some point your health breaks down. When health does break down it is important to take action and make changes to how you take care of your physical body. You need to learn how to work with your emotions and mental states so that you support your health. And most people find a tremendous amount of healing in also adding some kind of spiritual practices to support their health and well being. Taking care of body, mind, and spirit all works together to create a harmonious life. Disharmony causes illness.

What we are seeing in our lifetime are the results of not taking care of ourselves but also not taking care of the earth, air, water, and sun that give us life. Not working through personal issues such as a desire for amassing more and more on the material level has created disharmony. Not working with mental states have led to people becoming power hungry causing violence towards children, women, and men and all of life.

We go into forests and jungles and cut down trees in the millions without honoring them or thinking about the web of life and how the life of these trees contributes to the health of the planet. We kill entire species in the name of “money” and not just dishonor their beauty and life but don’t recognize how they contribute to the health of the web of life. And the list goes on.

I am certainly not trying to depress anyone reading this column. You know my intention with each column of the Transmutation News is to inspire us to keep up our spiritual work.

I am just trying to say that the human race has not been spirit driven. So, although we fall into places of despair it is time for all us to stand up and do our spiritual work to shift our own consciousness and perception. It is time for us to stand up together as a global community so that we can create exponential change, which leads to healing for the earth and all of life.

And it is time for us to surrender to the fact that the earth is evolving and that landscapes are changing as they have done since the beginning of time.

We need to examine our behavior of how we are contributing with our actions to supporting the health of the earth and the climate. What are some simple changes you need to make?

I am absolutely amazed by how many people on a spiritual path do not even try to recycle. There are some very simple actions we can take to begin to move towards caring and honoring the planet and the environment.

We need to continue our work of looking at the thoughts and words we feed the collective with. We have been doing this work together for years. This is something we must keep up. To add to this, we must be diligent and vigilant about the energies behind our emotions that we send to ourselves and into the collective. What we feed grows.

We need to continue experiencing our divine light and perceive the beauty in life. We cannot stop this practice because we are troubled by world events. Spiritual work that is only performed while remaining attached to the outcome is NOT spiritual work. When we become attached to outcomes this is the work of ego not spirit.

We must continue to do our dreaming work of creating the world we wish to live in. For it has been understood and known since the beginning of time that everything begins in the invisible worlds before it manifests in the physical.

For those of you new to reading the Transmutation News all this material is written up in my books Medicine for the Earth, How to Heal Toxic Thoughts, and The Shaman’s Toolkit. As a global community we have working together for many years with the practices written about in this monthly column.

It is important to acknowledge that although much is dissolving in the fabric of reality of what is no longer supporting life that there are beautiful new weavings that are starting to manifest. Through new ways of thinking and new perceptions, millions of people are shifting into new levels of consciousness. There are positive changes occurring.

You just have to look around and see the positive changes that are happening in your community instead of only being fed “the bad news” that the media provides.

We can get so overwhelmed by the media coverage of world events. Many world events do not get covered. And in former times people did not know what was going on in so many parts of the world. With so much knowledge comes overwhelm.

Find simple practices that you can do where you can focus your spiritual work on feeding what you want to experience for all of life. Be a conscious positive change maker. Work with your emotional and mental states. Remember the literal definition of the word “alchemy” is working within and through the dense darkness inside.

Experience your pain, frustration, and levels of despair and work it through. Be a presence in the world and do your work so you expand more into being a vessel of love and light.

There is a bigger picture to what our ego and personality can embrace right now about what is occurring in the physical world. And simultaneously there is A LOT OF LIGHT manifesting and radiating through the invisible worlds.

Let go of needing to see immediate outcomes of your spiritual work. We have been part of the problem as we have allowed our own bodies and the body of the earth to be worn down. Let us be part of the solution by doing our work to nurture and feed our own health and the health of the earth and all life.

This is not the time to give up. This is the time to stand up and use the elements of the Medicine for the Earth work of intention + love + union + harmony + concentration + focus + imagination = transmutation, transformation, and creation of a good world to live for all of life.

Do not move into a place of pity for humans or any life form that is going through challenges. You end up projecting weakness onto them. Project strength and power onto them by seeing all in their divine perfection.

The full moon is November 17. Let us truly do our preparation work to move our ego and personality aside and let our divine light and love shine through. Radiate that love and light within and throughout the earth. Join together with the light of our global community to create a strong and powerful web of light throughout the earth.

For those of you new to reading the Transmutation News please read “Creating a Human Web of Light” on the homepage.

Recently I was honored by the magazine Spirituality and Health in the November/December as one of the Top 10 Spiritual Heroes in 2013. Other people honored are India Arie, Adyashanti, Paige Elenson, Chief Oren Lyons, Sister Simone Campbell, Stacey Kennealy Pema Chodrin, Robert Peng, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

What touched me about this honor was that the decision to be included in this list was based on the Medicine for the Earth work. It is wonderful to see that spiritual practices done on behalf of the planet are being honored. We have so much potential to help heal the planet right now. Let us forge ahead as a strong spiritual community creating exponential shifts as we work together in love for all of life!!

Transmutation News – October 2013

transmutation news october 2013 1200x630

Thank you for your patience with the challenge we had with the first link we sent out for the September Transmutation News. Sylvia Edwards did resend the correct link. I hope you had a chance to read the column I wrote in September for I feel it included some powerful teachings to work with.

On that note, the last few monthly columns have been pretty rich and deep with teachings and practices to integrate into your life. As I wrote years ago I go in waves with the Transmutation News. Sometimes I feel I have nothing left to write. Sometimes I repeat certain teachings. And then after the quiet cycles new insights present themselves which I feel passionate about sharing.

I do feel what I have written in the past few months is a lot to digest. Please take your time to review some of the more recent columns and reflect on which insights I share speak to your heart and soul. For those insights that do resonate with you please make sure you are integrating new teachings and practices into your daily life so in the end you feel your quality of life has been improved. As your consciousness shifts this does touch and resonate through the entire web of life.

Over the years I have written about the teachings, revelations, and healings I have received by taking walks in nature. I live a few miles outside of downtown Santa Fe. There is arroyo below my house that runs for miles in two directions. In Santa Fe County it is illegal to fence off your property so that people can walk the entire length of the arroyo if they choose to.

An arroyo is a dry riverbed. Although there are many houses where I live when you enter into the arroyo and walk through the dry riverbed you cannot see the surrounding homes. It is such a gift to live in a place where you can easily enter nature and be completely unaware of the population that surrounds you.

I have been walking through this arroyo for the eighteen years I have lived in my house. Sometimes I jog through the arroyo simply for exercise and allowing my mind to wander. And there are times I walk slowly truly connecting with the wealth of plants and trees that grow here. Surrounding the arroyo are juniper, pinion pine, ponderosa, cottonwood, and aspen trees. I have gotten to know many of these trees and over the years I have felt that I have connected so deeply with some of them that I can truly call them my friends. Sometimes even when the air is silent and still as I approach certain trees the leaves will move as if greeting me.

There is one old ancient ponderosa pine tree that is so magnificent and seems to thrive during the most extreme climate changes such as cold, heat, wind, and of course drought. There is even a bench for the elderly that has been put by the tree with cushions marked on them “for the elderly”. This tree gets a lot of love and respect by the local residents.

Some trees I worry about. I can see them struggling a bit. I do my work to not project struggle and illness onto them. I see them in their divine light, and I often touch the trunk and deeply feel the bark of the tree and radiate love and light. And there are times when I walk through the arroyo in a very focused state and perceive all the trees in their divine light as I walk.

There are also times when I do not feel well emotionally or physically and ask that the trees recognize me in my divinity. Nature is intelligent and does recognize us. I have written about this before.

As I walk through the arroyo with questions or concerns I find that nature continues to show me omens. I love working with omens, as this is a way to experience just how much support we are always being given by the universe. The universe, the helping spirits, nature itself is always giving us signposts that light our path in life.

As you incorporate what I wrote about in the September Transmutation News about enlivening your senses you will be more aware of the omens and signs being shown to you.

On the homepage of this site you can find an article that I wrote on “How to Work with Omens”. I promise you that if you bring this work into your life you will once again remember the magic of life.

There are times that I have walked through my arroyo praying and crying asking for some help to guide me through particularly challenging times. And I always receive some kind of extraordinary sign showing that the universe is listening and sending help my way.

There were two times where I received such extraordinary omens that I wanted to share with you.

Many years ago I was having a challenging time with someone who I was connected with in my spiritual community. I had been walking on my treadmill focusing on this challenge. I heard a very clear message telling me to go walk in the arroyo, and I would receive an omen.

So I stopped my treadmill, put on a different pair of shoes for walking in sand, and began my walk. After walking for about 10 minutes a hawk came flying through the trees and flew right up to me and slapped my head with his wing. Then right behind him a hummingbird was flying and swooped down and slapped my head with his wing. Then they both landed on a branch and sat right next to each other just staring at me for what felt like an eternity. No one moved until after minutes I finally continued walking. Can you imagine a hawk and a hummingbird sitting on a branch quietly next to each other and not moving? It was amazing.

It took me quite awhile to get the message being shared. It is not always a simple matter to interpret signs and omens. But over time I got the message. From time to time I find myself thinking about this walk as the hawk and hummingbird showing up was beyond the ordinary.

Two years ago I was really challenged with the care of my father who was 97. I had to make decisions that felt were beyond what I was emotionally capable of making. Hospice could support me on some levels. But they could not make certain decisions I was facing.

One day I went into the arroyo. I was crying so and praying for some help and a sign. The day I went into the arroyo was a cold and rainy October day.

As I was coming back home a baby snake crawled over my hiking boot. I could not believe what I was seeing. As I was so distraught at the time I was not thinking clearly. I bent down to see if it was a worm or some other nature being. It was a snake. October is certainly not a time for snakes to be birthing. And a snake would not be out on a cold and rainy day. But there it was in the flesh. I could not deny its appearance.

The omen to me meant that something was changing and transforming. I saw it as a real sign of death/rebirth. And indeed my father did die shortly after I saw this omen. He ended up dying in such a state of peace of grace. There was a new birth and a transition for my entire family.

As I reflect on how many gifts I have received from walking in my arroyo I feel strongly that it has been my regular ongoing relationship with the spirit of this place that has brought forth a wealth of signs to help me on my life journey. I not only walk the same path on a regular basis, but I also always walk with honor and respect for all that is alive in this area.

I believe that it is the relationship I have built up with the nature beings here that has created such a deep and strong field that lifts the veils between the worlds. The help of the hidden realms can reach through to give me guidance and to let me know how much I am loved and supported.

I did not always live in a place where I had the opportunity to go right outside my door and walk for miles in nature. I grew up in Brooklyn, and I sang to a tree outside my house everyday. I talked to it everyday. And I felt that tree communicating back to me.

I also lived in San Francisco where I had my favorite walking paths in nature where I built up such a strong relationship with the nature beings there that I felt a strong sense of mutual love and support.

The point I am trying to make is that you can build up a mutually supportive relationship with nature wherever you live – in a city or in a rural environment. There are parks you can walk in where you live. There might be a tree or plant you can radiate love to everyday. There is the sky above and the earth below that you can continue to honor. You can honor the living beings we call earth, air, water, and the sun as you go about your day. It does not matter where you live.

Nature will respond to you. Your life will change. Your relationship with the universe will change as you notice signs being given to you to light your path and let you know you are being recognized, supported, and loved by the spirit that lives in all things. Most importantly, your deep connection with nature will fill your soul.

Hawk, snake, and dragonfly often visit me on my walks in my arroyo and also while I am walking in other places in nature when the universe is trying to give me a sign. Who visits you? The wind gives me some potent messages, and I have come to rely on the messages that travel through the wind and breezes when I need guidance in my life.

Find a park, a place in nature, and connect with nature everyday. As you build up a relationship notice how the universe responds to your questions, challenges, and prayers.

The full moon is October 18. You can integrate what I wrote about by deepening your relationship with the moon. The moon does recognize you. Honor the moon, go out and sing to the moon, and learn about how your cycles harmonize and are impacted by the cycles of the moon.

Notice how the moon participates in the ceremony of Creating A Human Web of Light that we have been doing again and again each month since 2000. Do your preparation work to create sacred space and move into a heightened state of consciousness and join with all in the global community. Experience who you are beyond your skin- pure spirit; pure light. And radiate that light throughout the web of light within and throughout the earth.

If you are a new reader of the Transmutation News please visit “Creating A Human Web of Light” on the homepage to read instructions for our full moon ceremony.

Transmutation News – July 2013

transmutation news july 2013 1200x630

We join our hearts together as a collective to radiate love and light to all life around the world that is being impacted by floods, drought, fires, and severe storms.

We rededicate ourselves to living a harmonious life that will be reflected back to us by the Earth.

I just returned from teaching in Europe. I had some deep experiences as my groups were filled with lovely people and very dedicated to the work. It was also a treat to be back in Europe again. I taught in both Germany and Scotland, and it was a beautiful time of the year to visit both countries. The hills in Scotland were just covered with blue bells. It was such an amazing sight, and the air was filled with their sweet fragrance.

In Scotland I taught Medicine for the Earth and Healing with Spiritual Light. I personally work with all the practices daily that I teach in the training. But as I taught, I was able to reflect on what practices that I need to deepen in my own life.

The practice that I realized I need greater focus with is how and what we project onto others and in the world. The example I use in my workshops is something that happened in my life many years ago.

I had arrived at a workshop to continue teaching a long-term training so I already knew everyone in my group quite well. The first day of the workshop a woman came up to me and asked me if I was okay. She said she had never seen me looking so tired. I actually was not feeling tired, but I found my energy dropping dramatically after she made this comment to me. A minute later someone came up to me, and she said that she had never seen me looking so refreshed and bright. Immediately I felt my energy shift, and I could feel radiance flowing through me.

This goes back to the Medicine for the Earth teaching of our perception creates our reality. As humans we all project. We can project suffering onto others and onto the world or we can see the brilliance and divine light in all that is alive.

What we feed grows. The more we nurture our projections of perceiving suffering the more that energy grows. The more we nurture our projections in perceiving the beauty and what is working we feed the energy of strength and beauty.

This does not mean that we should deny the challenges. But when we lift the veils between the worlds and look beyond human conditioning what we see is beauty, joy, love and health.

We really need to reflect on how our shifts of perception is an important piece to creating the world we wish to live in. For the more we feed the energies of what is not working the more we manifest problems. As we can focus on beauty the more all of life is lifted up. I realize how difficult this can be as the times we live in are so intense and filled with so much change. But at the same time this is an important practice to keep up.

This has to do with energy and what energies we choose to feed. And there are some very practical changes we can make in our daily life that can help to shift our perception, which shifts the reality that manifests.

When you look at friends, loved ones, and people shown in the media notice whether you focus on how someone you know, or groups of people are suffering. We can have compassion for what people are going through. But to pity people and focus on suffering creates a heavy energy for those you are projecting onto.

While you are conversing with people notice something that you can focus on that feeds the energy of their beauty and divine light. When you watch the news or read newspapers focus on the courage, beauty, strength, and divine light of groups of people that a news story is focusing on.

This does change the energy. It changes your perception, so you feel lifted up and on an energetic level you lighten the energy of all around you.

When you look at yourself in the mirror don’t focus on how tired you look or how your age might be showing. Focus on how beautiful you are and the light shining out of your eyes.

Notice the difference of how you feel when you do this. Also notice how the energy might change for another as you silently focus on their beauty, strength, and divine light. You will notice a true shift as you do this.

We need to learn how to project the best onto life. Right now, as a collective we are projecting suffering and challenges onto all of life and the planet itself. This needs to change for us to witness a shift in the energies needed to create true healing.

There is another piece of work that might help you to learn how to project the best onto others and the world.

I have written quite a lot about creating a rich and fertile inner garden. We need to nurture a fertile and rich inner landscape.

The light and joy shining out of the eyes of indigenous people comes from the depth and richness of the inner landscape they have developed.

If our inner landscape is barren, then when we look at others and the world around us, we see our outside world as barren too. If we feel empty the world around us seems empty too.

In 2011 I wrote an article for the Huffington Post on “How to Create A Rich Inner Garden”. You can read the article by clicking on Huffington Post Links on the homepage of this site.

Here is another practice you can work with to go along with creating a rich inner garden and landscape.

After my training in Scotland was over my husband Woods and I spent some time with my sponsor and his family. Stephen, who sponsored my workshop, is a long-time student and has become a good friend.

My husband and I have spent some wonderful time with Stephen over the last 10 years, and it was a joy to have some days together after the training.

Stephen really likes Woods a lot and they always spend their time together joking and laughing. Stephen decided to honor Woods and induct him into his family clan.

So, one night he created a ceremony for Woods. Stephen’s wife and I were also at the ceremony. Woods and I were so touched by Stephen’s words and the ceremony he created.

At the end of the ceremony, we held hands and shared words that came from our heart. When it was my time to speak, I found myself talking about my family. My ancestry was tribal, and I felt that the tribe of my family was coming through in love towards Stephen.

There was such a deep rootedness that I felt inside me. At that moment my inner landscape felt so rich and deep. I cannot even find words to describe the feeling. I cannot really remember feeling such deep fertile earth filling every cell of my being.

So many of us today focus on what we did not get from our ancestors. But the fact that we are alive shows we are carrying on a richness and gifts from our ancestors.

In my books and workshops, I have people journey on the gifts and strengths that they are carrying through from their mother’s and father’s line.

But I have never asked people to journey or experience the pure energy that they are carrying through their ancestral line. To do this I believe makes us feel a whole new level of feeling complete and rooted to this great earth.

You might wish to take some time in silence, get still, and to try to experience the energy of your mother’s and father’s line. It does not matter who your ancestors were and what they did or did not do. They were part of the earth and carried to you a richness of living on this earth. And to experience this will help you to feel a deep power growing in the soil of your inner landscape.

The more you can work with nurturing and deepening your inner landscape the easier it will be to project love, light, beauty, and gratitude into the world. For if you are feeling barren and empty within you cannot project the beauty onto others. You have to feel and experience and carry beauty from within first.

The full moon is July 22. Let us travel within and connect from a place of depth and beauty to experience our own fullness, radiance, and divine light. Feel yourself as part of a global community radiating love and projecting that love within and throughout the earth. Allow our collective radiance to feed and weave a human web of light within and throughout our great earth.

If you are new to reading The Transmutation News please read “Creating A Human Web of Light” on the homepage for instructions of how to participate in our full moon ceremony.

A few days ago, I had a dream. In the dream I was speaking with a woman who had been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. She asked me for advice. I told her the most important advice I could give her was not to lose hope.

For when we lose hope what is the point of going on? She agreed with this, thanked me, and then the dream ended.

It is so important as we go through so much change to keep up a state of hope. This is key in helping us to ride the waves of the times.

If you do the practices that I write in The Transmutation News, which are also included in Medicine for the Earth, How to Heal Toxic Thoughts, and How to Thrive in Changing Times (now titled The Shaman’s Toolkit) you will find yourself experiencing more strength, power, and most important you will experience hope.

When I taught Medicine for the Earth as part of the cardiac study with the Michigan School of Integrative Medicine, we found that the Medicine for the Earth group experienced long term feelings of hope. Hope is key for creating and maintaining a state of health and well-being.

Transmutation News – September 2012

transmutation news september 2012 1200x630

There are thousands of people who read the Transmutation News each month and engage in the spiritual practices that I have been sharing.

Many of you have been working with these practices for many years now. As a global community we have been weaving a beautiful foundation together that supports our work, our lives, and the process of evolution we are going through.

We have set the intention and have held our focus to keep dreaming the world we wish to live in into being. We have made a commitment to stop throughout the day to observe what we are thinking about and notice what energies we are sending out into the collective. We have been engaging in practices to align our thoughts and words with our desired outcomes.

As you know this is a work in progress. We should be proud for the energy we have put into building and restructuring a new way to live as well as how we have been holding the web of life in love. This is what we should turn our focus to whenever we drop into times of feeling hopeless. Focus on the beauty and healing we have been creating. We have been reweaving a new foundation to hold us as an old way of life that no longer serves us continues to unravel.

I know we can get frustrated wishing we could attain a state of consciousness that we could easily maintain and not get so distracted by the outer world. But the collective we live in supports a stressful way of life. We all do the best we can to live a spiritual life throughout the day.

For the key principle of the Medicine for the Earth work has been to integrate our spiritual work into our daily lives and not separate practices into something we do in the morning without any continuation of the practices as we go out into the world. We have kept a strong beautiful focus on being a light in the world while we are driving in traffic, while at work, when we are in the grocery store, standing in line at the bank, etc.

The teaching that it is who we become changes the world is core to being a positive changemaker. And we must keep up our spiritual practices.

At the same time, I know for myself I am feeling a shift happening in my focus. As the challenges we are facing on the planet become more complex I feel a true yearning to simplify everything I do.

I know from what I read that there has been a real movement with many people to simplify their physical needs – donating clothes and material objects to others and moving into smaller homes – finding ways to live simpler.

I have found this desire inside myself also. And at the same time, I feel a need to simplify the spiritual work that I do. For we can become obsessed and put too much pressure on ourselves with the spiritual practices we do. My soul’s yearning is to reconnect with myself and with MY SELF. I have been writing about SELF for a few months now – that spiritual eternal part of ourselves that is permanent, joyful and always at peace.

I am sure I am not alone in my yearning. I think many of us feel a need to reconnect with ourselves.

It almost feels like as the issues get more challenging and keep increasing on an exponential fashion that my own spiritual goals get smaller. The unraveling of a way of life that does not support life and the energies of love, equality, harmony, and peace will continue. The calls to wake up will continue to get louder. I know all of you understand this. These calls not only come from the earth but from our own soul which yearns to experience a deeper and more meaningful way of life.

So, finding some place inside of ourselves where we can experience peace even if just for a few minutes feels important. I did write about finding time to just experience stillness last month.

This month I want to write about creating sacred space in your home where you can remove yourself from all that is going on in the world and reconnect with yourself.

One way to do this is to find a corner or small table in your house where you can build an altar. I know those of us who have altars in our homes find comfort when we can sit with our altar and be in sacred space.

Keep your altar simple. You can create an altar with a candle, some flowers, crystals, stones, shells, things you have collected in nature that remind you of a place of beauty. Place things on your altar that remind you of times and experiences where you felt happy and peaceful. You can put pictures on your altar or something that you have made. These are just some suggestions to inspire you to come up with your own ideas.

I have a little cup that I fill with rose water that I leave as an offering to give thanks to all the invisible helping spirits that support me in my life. Some of these are my helping spirits, the spirits of the land where I live, the elements, the helping ancestors, and the hidden folk. My personal list might include more.

The key to making an altar is keep it simple, keep it sacred, and use your imagination.

You can also create an altar outdoors.

Allow yourself to be inspired to change your altar as you feel that changes are going on inside of yourself and you want your altar to reflect those changes.

Having some special spot that you can visit during the day and take a time out is a wonderful way to find some minutes of inner peace. Sitting in your sacred space can be a time where you can pray in your own way for yourself, others, and the planet. It is a place where you can give thanks for what you do have in your life. And it is a place where you can give thanks for the global circle of spiritual practitioners working in their own ways to make a difference in the world. Most of all this can be a place to find quiet from the noise of the world – both the inner and outer noise.

In this way we can continue to connect with ourselves and this will allow us to regenerate so that we do feel the strength and energy to keep our visions going and be a light in the world.

But we must be able to stay connected to ourselves in order to have this kind of energy. Otherwise, we end up trying too hard. Our spiritual practices stop flowing and they feel forced. And when we force our spiritual work, we end up feeling inauthentic with the work and might move to a place of hopelessness. When we allow our divine spirit and light to flow through us, we feel filled with inspiration and hope.

Life is unpredictable and many people are feeling fragile. This is not a new condition that humans have had to deal with. But as the unraveling of collective energies keep occurring, we are not always sure of the foundation we have to rely on. We must keep building a strong inner world. Our inner world is what will hold us in the times ahead. This allows us to wake up each day and be fully present to what life brings us knowing all solutions and actions we need to take will be presented to us.

You can rely on the foundation of love and support built by many thousands of us. We have woven a beautiful and strong foundation for us to stand on. But we have to take some time out each day to find a sacred and still place where we can just sit, be, and feel all that we have done. We must be able to experience moments of inner peace to refuel and regenerate.

As I experience peace filling each cell of my being every day, I don’t feel stressed out about what practices I am doing and what I might have lost concentration with. And as I can momentarily touch into a sense of peace and stillness, I deepen my trust in divine order.

We will continue to feel challenged by events around us. I know the shock that we felt by the senseless tragedy in Colorado. And there are so many senseless tragedies that stretch our hearts as we are filled with compassion. If you track energy, you can see where the energy is going. And we must hold strong individually and collectively.

Simplify your spiritual practices – don’t stress about them and don’t get caught up in trying to learn new methods. Give yourself a time out and find a corner where you can just be in peace.

Over the years I have written a lot to help us find tools in these changing times to keep our focus.

After the oil spill occurred in the Gulf, I wrote a summary of Medicine for the Earth practices that we have been working with.

On September 22 we celebrate the fall equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and the spring equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. Nature is such an amazing teacher for us and can help us to learn how to live in harmony through change. For nature is always changing and at the same time the earth provides for us what we need during shifts and changes.

I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico. And the weather predictions are for an intense winter. I have been noticing how nature is preparing us for the winter ahead.

The fruit trees in Santa Fe have bore more fruit that has been seen in recent years. Trees are heavy with berries, acorns, and pinecones. I have an apricot tree that produced apricots for the first time in the 17 years. It is quite extraordinary. The earth is preparing us and providing nurturance for all of life.

Take some time and notice the changes where you live. How has nature been showing you signs about the change in season coming? Learn to allow nature to help you make your own predictions rather than relying on meteorologists.

Meditate on a short ceremony that you might want to perform alone or with others in your community to celebrate the change in seasons.

You might want to do a releasing ceremony to let go of a disappointment or a block to your creative potential. You might want to perform a blessing ceremony for the earth and all of life planting seeds of gratitude, love, light, and hope for all of life.

Allow your own inspiration to guide you for your equinox celebrations. Ceremonies at the change of seasons is a way to honor the earth and at the same time assists us on a very deep level to step into the shift of seasons.

And know that our circle is radiating unconditional love and light to you for who you are. You are held in love and support by many thousands of people around the world. Feel it, take it in, and radiate it back.

The full moon is September 29. Let us continue weaving a beautiful web of light that expands out of our circle and embraces the entire earth and all of life.

Transmutation News – July 2012

transmutation news july 2012 1200x630

We must keep feeding the goodness of life and what we love so this energy builds and can override the forces we now see governing our planet.

Do your work inspite of what is happening in the world. We must stay focused in the midst of the challenges. We have to feed the energies we want to see grow in the world. We must continue to be gardeners and tend our earth garden.

In order to stay centered to keep up our spiritual practices during such intense times we must keep returning to Self. Self is our true nature that does not change and has a sense of inner stability and permanence. You can review chapter 5 in Medicine for the Earth for some tools to work with.

I keep exploring the process of creation. This has been a passion of mine throughout my life and I have written quite a bit on this over the years.

For those of you new to reading the Transmutation News you can read an article I wrote on the Huffington Post to get caught up with the work we have been doing. Just visit the homepage of this site. Click on “Huffington Post Articles” and read the article “How to Create a New Vision for the Planet”.

The ability to manifest healing and abundance for the planet and ourselves really is unlimited. But when I examine how most people practice manifestation, I see that many of us are manifesting from fear and an energy of scarcity.

We cannot be successful in our creation work while we are in a state of fear. Often, we try to create outer circumstances where we will be safe from harm and change. We do our creation work feeling that there are not enough resources for all.

When we think we are doing our spiritual work, but we are in a state of fear and scarcity then we are practicing our work from ego. And as I have written in the last couple of months you cannot create form when you are in a state of separation.

Form is created out of invisible energies and from vibration. All form starts in the invisible spiritual realms.

When you find yourself practicing your creation work out of a state of need and fear this is a sign that you will not be successful. For you are not in the required state of consciousness to be able to manifest abundance.

The key is to be able to sink deep enough that you find yourself floating energetically in a sea of abundance. And out of the energy and vibration of abundance then you can manifest form.

To enter into such a deep state of consciousness takes preparation. You really have to take the time to move from a state of separation into a state of oneness and experience the divine.

In shamanic cultures shamans really take their time in preparing for the healing work and ceremonies they are about to perform. In the West we often dive into the work without any preparation.

As shamans work in the invisible realms with formless energies, they allow themselves the time to move into the appropriate state to do their work.

I believe that we do not allow ourselves to go deep enough into the state where we can experience unlimited resources, wisdom, health, peace, light, and love.

For one we try too hard and end up attempting to force the work because we might feel some state of desperation.

We feel stressed out by all our responsibilities and we don’t take the time to just simply relax, be, and sink into the depth of the divine.

And then we feel disappointed when we do not feel successful.

The metaphor that comes up for me is that we are trying to squeeze water out of a dry sponge. Or in English we have a saying, “You cannot squeeze blood out of a turnip”. The point I am making is that you cannot create abundance when you are feeling empty, desperate, fearful, and experiencing scarcity.

We want to do our work from a place of inner richness. We want to tap into the wealth of beauty that grows from a true fertile garden.

In May I encouraged you to experience the expanse of the void. For we often limit the creative power of the universe as we limit the space we work within.

This month I would like to encourage you to take time to move out of fear and scarcity. This will require that you do some kind of preparation work to move into a state of peace.

You might take a walk in nature, meditate, sing, or dance. We all have our own entry points into a state of calm and inner peace.

From that state be still and allow yourself to sink deep within and imagine traveling into the sea of abundance. This is the true state of the divine feminine.

Then from this vibration start to form your creation. You must sink into the energy of abundance to create form from it.

Notice the difference of how it feels to practice your creation work from this place versus from an egoic state of fear and the belief, “I have to get what I can for there is not enough.”

Once you attain this state keep anchoring the feeling so that you live out of a place of abundance versus living out of a state of fear.

Any spiritual work practiced out of fear only feeds the dense collective trance we are actively choosing to transform and free ourselves from.

You might notice that there has been an ongoing theme that I have been writing about over the years. And this theme has to do with moving spiritual concepts from our heads and allowing our cells to absorb and then radiate spiritual energies.

I wrote many times about the importance of feeling our divine spiritual light through every cell of our being. For it is not enough to understand that who we are beyond our skin is light. We must feel it.

I wrote about absorbing the love of the creator or creative forces of the universe into every cell of your being. We must really experience universal love in our cells to be a vessel for that love.

I also shared with you that it is important to experience the force of the spiritual global community in our bodies versus understanding that there are millions of people around the world praying in their own way for the earth.

It is crucial to feel the power of the collective in our bodies to be a true channel of change and healing.

And now I am writing about sinking into abundance or any vibrational energy in which you are trying to create form from.

We tend to rationalize spirituality in our culture. We must experience it fully in our bodies in order to live the practices and also to be positive changemakers.

As we can experience the power of spirit more on a cellular level then we can surrender to the true power of spirit.

In the Western world we are always trying to figure things out. We try and think our way out of problems. We attempt to come up with a plan.

Many of us are learning the hard way that we cannot think our way out of every challenge. Our spirit knows how to create the healing and transformation we are seeking. And it is now time to surrender to Spirit.

When a problem or situation that needs healing presents itself call in the power of Spirit to guide you.

When you take time to reflect on your life you will notice that often an invisible force, the divine, God, brought you out of a dark place into a place of healing or to a place where good things started to manifest. The place you ended up might have been beyond what your thinking mind could have manifested.

It is time for us to stop working so hard to figure out how to transform what is happening on the planet. The more we can call in Spirit and let that force move in ways that are beyond our rational comprehension the more we open the doorway for true healing to happen.

As we experience on a deeper cellular the power of the spiritual work it opens up a stronger door to the realms of spirit. But we must surrender.

Write down 3 –5 very challenging times in your life when you felt some invisible force created change that you were not planning or expecting. This will give you an opportunity to reflect on how Spirit has been your true guide in life.

We have all had times where the divine took the reigns of our life and guided us to a good place. The time to wonder if we can trust Spirit is over. For Spirit is truly the force we must trust right now and surrender to.

The problems we have created in the world are beyond a rational plan of action.

The full moon is July 3. Let us together sink into our divine light, experience in our cells the power and true force of our global collective, and experience fully in our bodies the unlimited energies that we can bring through for healing and transformation. And then together as we align our heartbeats with each other, and the heartbeat of the earth let us continue to weave a brilliant web of light and love within and throughout our great planet.

Valerie Farr, a brilliant shamanic teacher and practitioner in Los Angeles, sent me this wonderful quote from Albert Einstein. I think it fits in perfectly with our work:

“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want, and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way.

This is not philosophy. This is physics.”

-Albert Einstein

Transmutation News – June 2012

transmutation news june 2012 1200x630

Last month I wrote that when you are trying to create a change in the outer world first you must work from an energetic place. You cannot change matter while you are in your egoic form.

This is a very important point that I would like us to explore this month.

Shamans and spiritual healers look through the eyes of spirit into a client’s body reading the field of energy. Shamans heal what is out of balance on a spiritual level. The illness might manifest on an emotional or physical level, but the shaman is looking behind the manifestation of symptoms. A shaman looks at the energy system of a client and restores harmony on a spiritual level. Once harmony is restored in the invisible energetic system the client’s body and emotions can heal.

In the modern Western world, we tend to try and cure symptoms. We often ignore looking at the core energetic system and how that needs to be restored to a state of balance so that the entire life force of a person can flow again bringing a state of well being.

In my books Medicine for the Earth, How to Heal Toxic Thoughts, and How to Thrive in Changing Times I teach the importance of being able to transmute and transform the energy behind our thoughts. I also teach that when we use words we create as we speak, and we must be aware of the energy behind our words. For we manifest with our words.

We have been working together on this work for years now as I have focused on this since I started writing the Transmutation News in 2000.

But we must take the work of transmuting and transforming the energy behind our thoughts and words further. For what is behind form and matter is energy.

To truly create positive healing for others, the planet, and ourselves we must stop focusing on symptoms. We must look through the eyes of spirit to see the movement of energy and any blocks that might be noticed in the web of life.

The image I keep seeing is a web and matrix of tiny crystalline lights that are in all of life. And sometimes an attunement of this web must be made so that the energetic flow can be freed. Once this flow is free health is restored on all levels.

When I teach my work on “Medicine for the Earth and Healing with Spiritual Light” I ask people not to focus on a client’s physical and/or emotional complaint.

This is often confusing for people, especially people who work with me through some of my ongoing online courses.

People feel that if they can hear other peoples’ complaints and stories that it will create a state of compassion and more energy to want to participate in the healing work.

But when two or more people actually agree on an energy, we actually end up solidifying the problem. If one person states that they are ill on an emotional or physical level and we as an outside force feed that belief we have exponentially solidified the symptoms stated.

I know this gets tricky if you are in a helping profession. For clients show up with a problem that must be stated and diagnosed. But as helping professionals we do not have to feed the energy stated. We can let the client share what is happening and through the process of simply being an observer we end up changing the issue stated. I wrote about the power of observation and how this simple practice can heal in my book Medicine for the Earth.

I want to encourage all of us to look behind the symptoms that you are manifesting, you might see in others, and on the planet. Go into a meditative state and look through the eyes of spirit and start to work on the energetic matrix.

As we even look beyond the energetic matrix, we observe only divine light. As we recognize the light in ourselves, others, and the planet transformation naturally takes place. For light is life and light heals all illness. And of course, as we observe the light in all of life, we must allow universal love to flow through us. All life is light, and we came here to experience the love of the divine.

I think part of the collective trance keeps us only looking at chasing symptoms. We are looking on the wrong level to really create lasting healing. I know many of us have seen the potential of energy medicine and have glimpsed into the future of its power to heal. Why not start now?

Recently I was searching around some of my past Transmutation News to find some material that might be relevant for an article I am writing for the Huffington Post. I read some of what I wrote in the May 2010 Transmutation News and thought it was relevant to what I have written in this month’s column. I thought I would share some of our past work to add to what I have already written.

From: The May 2010 Transmutation News:

One of the core teachings of the Medicine for the Earth work is that everything manifests in the spiritual before manifesting in the physical.

About 5 years ago I wrote that the fabric of reality is breaking down. Floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes are creating an unweaving of the fabric of life. Organizational structures are falling apart and there is a great deal of disillusionment in government and religious organizations.

We are continuing to experience major earth changes as with the recent earthquakes in different parts of the world and the eruption of the volcano in Iceland.

True shamans work on creating the new fabric of reality and continue to work on the web of life. Looking at patterns of disharmony they use art, song, dance, and dreaming to change the frequency of the patterns of the entire web.

With the work we have been doing together we are changing the collective fabric which requires changing our thoughts and daydreams as we work to create a new fabric of reality in the invisible realms which will manifest into the physical world to replace all that is unraveling. In this way we build an invisible world of substance that manifests as a new physical reality.

There are many of us who only want to look at making external changes. There are of course actions we can take to change what is happening on the planet. With some actions and healing work it is like going around and just treating symptoms without looking at the deeper level of the challenge and the illness.

When we use our thoughts, words, and daydreams to build an invisible world of substance we go to the core of reweaving a new fabric reality.

If there are not people who are willing to be the dreamers than what will our future be? And as the necessary and evolutionary breakdowns keep occurring what is the vision for the future? There must be a collective holding a new vision.

It is essential for those of us who are called to dream and reweave a new fabric of reality to keep working on building an invisible world of substance. And I wrote about the creation methods I use in both Medicine for the Earth and in my new book How to Thrive in Changing Times.

I do believe that it is important to take some time to reflect on the invisible world of substance you have been building.

The full moon is June 4. Let us together focus on the powerful work that is taught in spiritual traditions – the world of form is preceded by energy.

Let us work with reweaving an invisible world of substance by focusing on weaving a strong and brilliant web of light.

For those of you new to the Transmutation News please read “Creating A Human Web of Light” on the homepage for instructions for our monthly ceremony.

On June 20 we celebrate the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere.

What a great time to merge with the earth where you live. When you merge with the earth you learn about it by becoming it. In this way you can experience in your body what changes are happening in your own inner earth.

For instructions on how to merge with an element you can look at Medicine for the Earth or How to Thrive in Changing Times.

Basically, you want to do a meditation to become earth. Focus your intention on merging with the earth where you live. Put on some music and allow yourself to sink into a merged state with earth. To deepen your experience, you can merge with all the elements where you live and learn about the changes that come with the changing season. As we are earth, air, water, and fire ourselves we change with the seasons too.

As you merge with the elements notice that they are always in movement. Even frozen earth is always moving. Movement is needed for health. Illness manifests when there is stagnant energy. This means that our energy must keep moving to maintain a state of health.

Let us together give thanks and gratitude to the elements for all that we are given so that we might thrive and not just survive. And most of all let us join our hearts together and give thanks for our life. Let us feed the spirit that lives in all things (all of life on earth) with universal love!

On the solstice eat a fresh piece of fruit or a vegetable that is grown organically without pesticides. Whether you live in the city or in the country there are markets that sell fresh organically grown local produce.

As you eat the bounty that comes from the earth imagine yourself sinking into the earth and feel the love and light of all that the earth gifts us with.

I wish you a joyous summer or winter!

Transmutation News – May 2012

transmutation news may 2012 1200x630

When we engage in the practice of shamanism as well as spiritual practices that come from other traditions we work within a deep inner invisible space.

Everything without comes from within. And on a rational level we cannot always “wrap our minds” around the numinous field of energy.

The bamboo plant is an extraordinary living being. As with all plants, life starts from a seed. As it is watered the roots grow very deep for four years. After four years the plants burst forth very rapidly and grow to about 80 feet almost overnight.

As humans we also have been growing deep roots in our inner garden. For many of us these deep roots come from social conditioning, collective beliefs, beliefs we absorbed from the media, and own life experiences.

It is essential that we examine the strong roots growing in our inner garden and explore clearing out the space needed for the numinous energies to grow from and manifest in our own lives and into the world.

The root system of the bamboo plant is also a wonderful example of how when we start with a strong structure and foundation, we can support a strong and healthy life that can withstand all kinds of stresses. For the strength to thrive lies deep within.

This month focus on meditating on your root system. Take walks in nature and reflect on how some of the healthiest plants and trees have strong root systems. Some of the root systems are on the surface and some deep below the earth. But the health of a plant and tree often is reflected by the power of their root system.

Use your imagination to go within and focus on clearing out the roots of defeatist attitudes and belief systems that have been growing strong plants in your own inner garden.

Make room for the numinous. Make room for the divine.

In April I recorded my first session of my webinar “Deepening the Medicine for the Earth Practices”.

There were three principles I talked about in the first session. And I will very briefly summarize the teachings here.

Many people that I hear from share that they are afraid to use their imaginations to dream a positive dream for themselves and the earth. What I hear from people is that they don’t know what their ego might be asking for and trying to manifest versus what their spirit might support. The fear arises of manifesting something that might not be for a person’s highest good.

And the other issue that arises is the belief that the future holds something beyond what we can imagine. So why try to imagine a good future now.

My response to these issues raised is that we are using our imaginations 24 hours a day and seven days a week. There are spiritual masters who can silence their minds. But for most of us our imagination is always working. Our imagination is even working in our dreams at night.

So why not focus on imagining a positive vision instead of the pain, trauma, drama that many of us keep visioning?

And our future is created from the present. We want to focus our imagination on dreaming a beautiful present into being. By doing this we lay the tracks from which the future is built from.

Don’t be afraid to use your imagination to dream a wonderful dream for yourself and all of life on this great earth. Go for it!

The next principle I talked about is that we know the universe is space. The matter that exists in our universe can fit on the tip of a pin.

Yet when we do our creation work, to use a metaphor that I was given, we keep painting over old canvases. So, the old paintings keep bleeding through into our new paintings which contain our new visions.

I wrote about creating from the void in my books Medicine for the Earth and How to Thrive in Changing Times. If you have a copy of one of these books, please review what I wrote.

The void is the place before creation. It is prior to thought. The void is empty, yet full with the power of unpotentiated energy. All life is created and birthed from the void.

We need to expand out and stop creating from a limited place in the universe. Imagine finding a new spot in the void in space to create from. Expand into the vastness of space.

Don’t paint over old canvases. Find new canvases and new materials to paint your new visions with. And remember to paint yourself into your vision and experience the painting coming alive with all the sensory input that allows you to step into the new dream.

Don’t reframe. Begin again, anew. Start a new dream.

And lastly my spirit teacher the Egyptian Goddess Isis talked to me about how we work and engage with the global spiritual collective.

She said that there are millions of people around the world engaged in spiritual work. We all work in the ways we are called to, but the work is for the benefit of all of life.

She said that most of us think about the spiritual collective. She said that what is truly important is to feel the power of the spiritual collective in our body. This is a force. Force is both a masculine and feminine principle.

Right now, we feel in our bodies the force and power of the dense mass collective who believes in scarcity, pollution, illness, and that being able to create positive change on the planet is not possible. So, this is the force that keeps being fueled and is manifesting its presence.

But if everyday we allow ourselves to feel the pure energetic force of the spiritual collective this power will override the collective trance we are trying to break out of.

Everyday a little more and little more allow yourself to experience the power of the spiritual collective in your body. Don’t experience it all at one time as this might be more than you can physically handle at once. Set your intention and allow yourself to feel the energy, power, force of the collective more and more each day.

We are luminous beings. We are not matter. All form is energy.

We cannot change matter when we try to create change while we are in our egoic form. This is not the level to operate from.

When we travel into the void and practice shaping energy, we end up creating form and matter.

You need to go back to your prior state of luminous energy and shape energy into form.

In Medicine for the Earth, I wrote about how Jack Schwarz was able to heal himself while he was being tortured in a prison camp. He said he healed himself through a heightened consciousness and attuning to the universe.

I also wrote about the story of Isis and Osiris and the birth of Horus. Osiris had been murdered and dismembered. Isis walked the land collecting all the parts of Osiris. Osiris now deceased had transcended to spirit. Isis had to drop her physical form and transfigure into her spiritual form to mate with Osiris to conceive Horus.

This is a powerful teaching about the magical birth of Horus through the merging of Isis and Osiris in spirit. The union of spirit created a magical being; a magical form.

The full moon is May 5. Let us focus on creating deep luminous roots into the earth to support the web of light that embraces our great earth.

A friend of mine sent me a link to a wonderful article. For 12 hours, two herds of wild South African elephants slowly made their way through the Zululand brush until they reached the house of Laurence Anthony, the conservationist who saved their lives. Laurence Anthony had died and as they psychically got the message, they made a pilgrimage to his home to mourn his death.

This was such a beautiful and awesome story. It also shows how when we learn to silence the outer noise, we too can receive the messages we need. We are all connected to the web of life that informs each and every one of us with all we need to know.

We need to learn how to be still and listen.

Transmutation News – September 2011

I want to remind those of you reading the Transmutation News in languages besides English that all languages are now linked on https://www.sandraingerman.com/transmutationnews.html.

I am delighted to announce that we have new translations!! Please join me in sending blessings and appreciation to our two new translators. Filiz Telek is translating The Transmutation News in Turkish. And Jitka “Jitush” Navratilova is translating the Transmutation News into Czech. It is so wonderful that our global community keeps growing!

I have decided not to send a broadcast email each time a blog I have written is posted on the Huffington Post. We get enough emails, don’t we? Instead, I will post the blog link on the Transmutation News. The blog for August is posted in the Announcements Section below and also it will posted on the homepage of www.sandraingerman.com.

I received messages from many readers that what I wrote in the August Transmutation News was extremely helpful.

I feel that as teachers and practitioners it is important to never put oneself on a pedestal. For when we do we set up unrealistic expectations for others.

Part of living in the conditioned world is always thinking that there is a perfect state we must attain and achieve. The truth is we are all growing towards the light and the sun. And in nature growth occurs in a slow and steady fashion.

I think putting people on pedestals or putting oneself on a pedestal is not healthy and is not truly being in service. For all those people we respect in life for the states of consciousness they model went through a challenging process of growth and are still growing.

The key is we must support and inspire each other to not give up and to keep walking on a spiritual path. In this way we flow with the river of life instead of being dragged by the river of life.

Last month I said I would write more about the Healing the Heart study I conducted with University of Michigan Integrative Medicine.

The study was published in the July issue of Explore: The Journal of Science and Healing.

The manuscript of the Healing the Heart study can be downloaded for a fee by clicking on the following link:
http://www.explorejournal.com/article/S1550-8307(11)00099-1/abstract

Heart patients who participated in a four-day Medicine for the Earth retreat that included techniques such as meditation, guided imagery, drumming, journal writing and outdoor activities saw immediate improvement in tests measuring depression and hopefulness. Those improvements persisted at three- and six-month follow-up measurements.

The study was the first randomized clinical trial to demonstrate an intervention that raises hope in patients with acute coronary syndrome, a condition that includes chest pain and heart attack.

“The study shows that a spiritual retreat like the Medicine for the Earth program can jumpstart and help to maintain a return to psycho-spiritual well-being,” says study lead author Sara Warber, M.D., associate professor of family medicine at the U-M Medical School and director of U-M’s Integrative Medicine program. “These types of interventions may be of particular interest to patients who do not want to take antidepressants for depression symptoms that often accompany coronary heart disease and heart attack.”

The retreat group was compared to two other groups: one received standard cardiac care and the other participated in a lifestyle change retreat run by the U-M Cardiovascular Center that focused on nutrition, physical exercise and stress management.

The study used a number of standard mental and physical benchmarks to assess the success of the program.

The spiritual retreat group went from a baseline score of 12 on the Beck Depression Inventory, indicating mild to moderate depression, to an improved score of 6 immediately afterward, a 50-percent reduction. Their scores remained that low half a year later. The lifestyle group saw their scores drop from 11 to 7 and remain there. The control group’s score started at 8 and went down to 6.

Participants also showed marked improvement in their scores on a test measuring hope. Scores on the State Hope Scale can range from 6 to 48, with higher scores indicating greater hope. All three study groups started with average scores between 34 and 36. After the Medicine for the Earth retreat, participants’ average scores rose and stayed at 40 or above, while the other two groups’ averages remained significantly lower, ranging from 35 to 38, three and six months later.

“Our work adds an important spiritual voice to the current discussion of the importance of psychological well-being for patients facing serious medical issues, such as acute coronary artery disease,” Warber says.

The workshop I taught was based on what I wrote in Medicine for the Earth. I taught the workshop in Michigan in 2004 and the majority of participants were very religious and would not be open to working with helping spirits or shamanic practices.

In teaching the workshop in Michigan all the practices were very powerful for our group. I just adapted my vocabulary to match the vocabulary that the participants could understand and work with.

This in itself is a powerful teaching. We oftentimes get so attached to feeling a need to use certain vocabulary when we teach spiritual practices. We must be flexible with our words to reach a broader audience with the work.

After the workshop in 2004 I wrote How to Heal Toxic Thoughts and then a couple of years later How to Thrive in Changing Times.

In both these books I was able to share the Medicine for the Earth work in ways that I felt could be understood by an audience of all beliefs and religions.

I know that these books are not all available in the languages that the Transmutation News is translated into. To get a book published in another language requires an interested publisher. At least one of these three books is published in almost all the languages.

If you are interested in teaching the Medicine for the Earth (MFTE) work to others in your community you might consider reading these books and adapt some of the exercises and practices given.

Below is a list of just some of the principles and practices we worked with:

We worked with the formula for transmutation and transformation: intention + love + union + harmony + concentration + focus + imagination = transformation.

Our perception creates our reality. If we believe we can create a life filled with good health, then we will and can. As we learn how to appreciate the beauty of life our life reflects back that beauty.

We can perceive a person as healthy or ill. Spiritual teachings share when we perceive a person in their perfect health, we help to lift them into a state of perfection.

Everything in our physical world starts in the invisible realms. This means our train of thoughts effect our health on all levels. The words we use also create the world we live in. Thoughts and words are “the as within” that create “the as without”.

When one looks at creation stories from around the world you can observe that most cultures believe that the world was created from a sound or word. And words are seen to have great creative power.

We used meditation to breathe through our hearts and to learn how to observe our thoughts and state of being. We used meditation to disidentify from our emotional triggers.

We used journaling to write out thoughts, words, and decrees we wished to focus on throughout the day to lead us to our desired outcome.

We worked with creating a state of well being by using our imagination engaging all of our senses to see, hear, feel, taste, and smell the experience of the life we wish to create. In our workshop I had participants use their imaginations to see, hear, feel, taste, smell the experience of a life where they were healthy and happy. If you need more information on how to do this please read the May 2011 Transmutation News.

We used guided imagery to help participants discover their own story of creation so that they could understand the principle of union with the divine. An exercise to do this was written in the October 2010 Transmutation News.

We focused on how being out in nature helps us to regain a sense of well- being as we are connected to nature. And the earth, air, water, and the sun give us life. We went outside to sit with a tree as a time to relax and feel our connection with the heartbeat of the earth. And then we took short walks in nature while appreciating all that the earth, water, air, and the sun give us so that we may thrive.

We meditated on our life as a garden. We reflected on the thoughts and words we seeded our garden with. To have healthy lives we need to plant seeds in our inner garden of hope, inspiration, and love with our thoughts and words.

We asked for a healing dream before going to bed at night.

We learned how to transfigure into our divine light.

With the work that we did in the MFTE group we did a simple ceremony to imagine ourselves traveling deep into our bodies until we experienced our inner spiritual light. Then we experienced the flow of our spiritual light and radiated it out to the other members of our circle. In this way we experienced everyone in the circle in their divine perfection feeding the health of each participant in our circle.

One easy method I write about in How to Thrive in Changing Times is to imagine our body and mind being a beautiful coat over our spirit. Just unzip your coat and step out as pure divine light. Once you have had the experience zip back up your coat remembering the truth of who you truly are.

Another simple way I write about is imagine yourself merging with a star in the night sky. A star is light and radiates that light effortlessly for millions of miles. Imagine yourself being a shining star in the night sky.

After the four-day workshop, participants were encouraged to keep up a daily practice of transfiguration and also to keep perceiving everyone who was in our group in their divine light. And also each person was encouraged to feel the love of the circle throughout each day.

And I also encouraged the group to take in all the elements as light. Participants were taught to breathe in air, drink water, eat food, and take in the sun as love and light.

The practice is to allow our cells to absorb love and light throughout the day allowing radiance to shine through us creating a state of health and well being.

Participants were asked to create sacred space in their home and office by bringing in special objects. Decrees, words, inspirational images, flowers, candles, etc. can be placed in our space to remind us of our divinity.

Each person in our circle was amazed at the depth of the growth and healing that came from the practices they were taught during this four-day workshop. But they were also so touched by the love and support of the circle, and this was a new and life changing experience for them.

There were so many personal stories filled with emotion when we shared how the practices touched each person during and after the workshop when we continued our follow up.

At some point I hope to be able to pull together these wonderful stories to share with others as a source of inspiration. For as we know the heart filled stories shared by participants speak to the results in a deeper way than statistical data.

In the May Transmutation News I had shared about the Recall to Basic Consciousness. This was a conference for indigenous elders that took place in June. The conference was created by Jose Lucero, who is an elder in the Santa Clara Pueblo.

Jose Lucero has sent me an update on what occurred at the conference and I wanted to share a brief summary with you that you might find interesting. Here is an edited version of what Jose Lucero sent me:

“Following the tradition of the Indigenous United Nations meeting, the gathering used a circular format and the concept of an open fire to invite all of nature’s family who share the love of life, and respect and care for Mother Earth. The open fire is symbolic of planting and nurturing the spiritual seed of traditional knowledge in the hearts and minds of all who were present. The circle represents a simple gesture of respect for Mother Earth.

Participants honored and acknowledged elders present, those who could not attend, as well as those who have passed.

During the gathering, prayers were offered asking for the blessing of water to grow the spiritual seed of traditional knowledge, and that rain be sent to our drought-stricken areas. This was done by casting a sacred pebble into the pool of life. The strong winds that blew throughout the meeting carried the message.

Prayers were offered to bring harmony to Mother Earth and to the human race. And all the tragedies that have come from environmental disasters, disease, famine, war were acknowledged and prayers were offered to all those impacted.

It was with this heavy load that the elders made a pilgrimage to “The Heart of Mother Earth” by Navajo Mountain. While there, they offered amends, condolences and asked for forgiveness on behalf of all peoples.

While the rings of the sacred pebble made in the pool of life continue to grow further and further, so we reach out toward the future and the year 2012. It is at this time that a “cosmic alignment for spiritual enlightenment” must be made which will coincide with the alignment of the planets in our solar system. The planets are governed by the spiritual strings of our Grandfather Sun who in turn is ruled by the Creator. The solar flares from Grandfather affect all life forms and events in our solar system.

As these events occur we must not be fearful, but aware, and humble ourselves as we transition to recognize higher consciousness.

We would be wise to follow the example of the indigenous traditional elders who have gone before us, and those who are here with us today, and return to basic consciousness in order to help Mother Earth and all her children. For as we think and live, so Mother Earth, the solar system, and ultimately the universe will respond to us in like manner.

Un be og gin de way da. With respect and love for all.”

The final message that comes from the elders matches the work we have been doing together.

I suggest that we celebrate the change in season by sending a prayer for all of life by casting a sacred pebble into the pool of life. You can do this through a meditation, creating your imagery, or through shamanic journeying. Let us join in with the wisdom of the elders and add to the rings of the sacred pebble so the rings continue to grow reaching further throughout the planet and into the future.

The equinox is September 23. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere we welcome in Autumn. And for those in the Southern Hemisphere we welcome in Spring.

This is a wonderful to time to meditate on your inner garden. Put on some nice music and imagine yourself traveling within to your own inner sacred garden of life. Notice what thoughts and attitudes need to be weeded out and what new seeds need to be planted.

Remember what we give energy to we give life to. What energies are you feeding?

This is a time where we are being asked to surrender to the death of what we know. It is time for us stop thinking and to live from our hearts and follow our inner wisdom.

It is a time to respond to questions with the answer “I don’t know”.

Whether you are celebrating the fall or spring equinox it is time to start looking at the world through spirit eyes. Drop into your heart and merge with your inner spirit and perceive all that is happening from a new perception.

Rationally we do not know what is coming. We can only allow our spirit to guide us.

The full moon is September 12. Let us continue to feed and weave a beautiful web of light within and throughout the earth. And let us send love and blessings to our global community as we perceive all of us in our divine light radiating light within and without.

For those of you new to reading The Transmutation News please read “Creating A Human Web of Light” on the homepage for instructions on our full moon ceremony.

Please join me in sending blessings to all for a joyous equinox!

Transmutation News – June 2011

We continue to hold in our hearts those experiencing so much loss due to extreme weather and violence all around the globe. We hold the space for all as we radiate love, light, and support.

Last month I was very inspired to write quite a bit for The Transmutation News. I know there was a lot for you to work with and to continue to work with.

I also wanted to thank all the translators who translated this wealth of information into 10 languages.

I just finished leading a conference put on by the Society for Shamanic Practitioners. We had such a wonderful experience!!

A project that the Society for Shamanic Practitioners has been passionate about is called Shamanism Without Borders. And this project has been a way to educate spiritual practitioners of how we can be in service when destruction happens through environmental events.

During this conference I wanted to bring in the aspect of building community as part of our work. And the format was one that I had not worked with before.

I invited Michael Stone to lead the group in ecstatic dancing to help us as shamanic practitioners become embodied and also to help us build community through dance.

As you know the theme of the Transmutation News has been that we can transform what is happening on the planet by being a presence of love and light. But in order to be a strong presence of love and light we must be embodied.

Instead of talking about building community we built community by dancing with the group for hours. And I believe we all got a deep sense of community on a cellular level.

Also, I had invited Jose Lucero, an elder from the Santa Clara Pueblo, to work with our group. Jose also helped to build a strong community with ceremonies he led.

During our weekend we were looking at building personal communities but also learning about building community with the spirit of the elements and the land itself.

We spent one day hiking in silence at Bandelier National Park which was the home of the Anasazi Indians. The Anasazi lived in New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. There are endless “theories” about what caused their disappearance and I feel strongly that they did not disappear rather they transcended to a higher vibration.

We spent hours hiking in silence to listen to what they had to share about how they dealt with environmental challenges as in their time they faced drought and famine and changing conditions. Yet they were a strong and peaceful people who lived in harmony in community.

And then we also focused some of our work on the Rio Grande where Jose Lucero shared with us that the Rio Grande is seen by the indigenous people as the main heart artery of the earth. He shared with us what is happening to the Rio Grande as so much nuclear material is now in the river.

As a community we gathered at a place on the Rio Grande where a couple of people went to the river and put some river water in a gourd that Jose provided. They brought the gourd to the group and we all put our blessings into the water. Then I poured the blessed water from the gourd back into the Rio Grande with the intention that our light and love would radiate throughout the river.

Those of you who have been reading the Transmutation News over the years know as a global community we performed similar ceremonies together. I asked you to collect water from local water sources – rivers, streams, lakes, oceans and transfigure into your divine light radiating light into the water and then bringing that water back to the source feeding all water in the world with our love and light.

This is work that you can continue in your local communities to give thanks to the spirit of water. As we show honor and respect to the elements, they will through the principle of reciprocity reflect back honor and respect to us. This is one way to bring balance as we see a range from floods to drought happening around the planet.

In our work over the weekend, we looked at what it means to be a presence of love and light and how that brings transformative energies to the planet.

We learned about community by being a strong community rather than talking about community.

We used the practice of deep listening to speak to the ancient ones to ask for guidance of how we can thrive through the transition we live in.

We looked at how to bring a daily practice of gratitude into our lives.

This is all work we have been participating in together as a global community as we have focused on radiating love and light and staying connected and supporting each other through our monthly healing ceremonies.

I first was introduced to Michael Stone when I was a guest on his radio show “Conversations with Michael Stone”. Michael interviews leading edge thinkers, authors, and activists in the environmental and spiritual community. He is a brilliant interviewer and also brings through his own deep wisdom on this show.

If you would like to listen to his interviews, please visit: arewelistening.net for more information.

I wrote about Jose Lucero in the May Transmutation News as I shared with you a conference of elders that he is putting together this June. Please read last month’s column if you missed reading about the important gathering Jose is creating.

The Society for Shamanic Practitioners has written a small book Shamanism Without Borders. We are self-publishing this book and it is now at the printer. I will post next month how to order a copy of the book.

And if you would like to learn more about the Society for Shamanic Practitioners please visit: www.shamansociety.org.

In May I was asked to write an article on “How to Heal Toxic Thoughts”. I am so excited to share with you that the article is now live on AOL/Huffington Post Media Group. The link to read the article is: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sandra-ingerman/healing-energy_b_867267.html.

As you know it is so important for us to focus on the thoughts we send out into the world. For the thoughts we send out into the world end up the feeding the energies we are seeing in our personal lives and on the planet as a whole.

We must constantly be diligent to make sure that our thoughts are filling the air with love. Yes, it is important for us to continue to experience our emotions that range from joy to anger to fear. For this is our birthright as humans to experience a range of emotions that make us feel alive.

The key is to express our emotions without sending them like psychic arrows to ourselves, others, and to the planet.

Please review my book How to Heal Toxic Thoughts: Simple Tools for Personal Transformation. This book is translated into many of the languages this site is translated into. There is also a section on this work in Medicine for the Earth.

It is so important for us to create a practice that we can use throughout the day to transmute the energy behind our thoughts and attitudes so that we are being a true channel of love and light.

One of the beauties of shamanic journeying, dreaming work, visioning work is that we can transcend time through our practice. For when we travel into the hidden and invisible worlds, we are outside of time. We can travel back in time and explore different lifetimes and events that occurred in our lives. We can also go forward in time to explore the future.

For about 20 years I have been teaching how to journey into the future in two ways. One intention I teach is to speak to a part of yourself who has created the life you always wanted, Another intention is to ask for guidance from descendants in the future on how to heal ourselves and the planet.

This a potent way to work as there is so much we learn about the steps we can take to change and heal our lives.

For those of you who have a copy of Awakening to the Spirit World: The Shamanic Path of Direct Revelation you can look at what I wrote about journeying to descendants.

This month I would like us to utilize the gift of traveling into the future. You can journey to your future self or to descendants.

First, I will share with you the intention and then I will give instructions.

We can learn much by traveling into the future. The intention you want to set is to travel to your future self where you have settled into a good life. Your spiritual work has led you to a wonderful place in life. And the work you are doing is also having a positive impact on the health of the environment and the planet.

Ask yourself the steps you took to get to such a good place.

You can also do this same work by traveling to descendants who live in harmony and have found solutions to create a healthy planet. Ask these descendants in the future what steps we need to take in order to create positive changes for the planet and ourselves.

If you have a practice of shamanic journeying, you can just set your intention to meet with your future self or descendants and ask for the guidance you wish to receive.

If you do not have a practice of shamanic journeying, you can do this work by putting on some nice relaxing music. Lie or sit down and take some deep breaths while holding your intention. Allow your imagination to take you in the future where you can get images, hear messages, or get a feeling sense of the guidance coming through.

You can also do some automatic writing as I describe in Medicine for the Earth, How to Heal Toxic Thoughts, and How to Thrive in Changing Times.

With automatic writing you also want to play some music that expands your consciousness. Write down on a piece of paper your intention -–what is the guidance you are seeking.

Either keep your eyes closed or you can also keep your eyes open just a little bit. Allow your pen to just move not worrying where you are on the paper or how you are writing. It is amazing the information that will come through.

Let us use what we learn from our future selves and our descendants to feed the web of life with love. And let us continue to deepen our experience of who we are “beyond our skin” which is pure divine light.

June 15 is the full moon and is also a full lunar eclipse. Let us focus together and continue to weave a web of light and unconditional love within our throughout this great earth! Let us also continue our transfiguration work to support everyone in our global community.

If you are a new reader to the Transmutation News welcome! You can find the instructions for our monthly full moon ceremony by clicking on “Creating A Human Web of Light” on the homepage of this site.

June 21 is the summer solstice for those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere. And this day marks the change in seasons to winter as the Southern Hemisphere celebrates the winter solstice.

I asked for guidance from my helping spirits of what to share to celebrate this solstice.

I was told that this is a time for all of us to establish a practice of deep listening.

There are many environmental changes happening all through the planet. Some of these changes make the news and we tend to focus only on the changes that the media covers. But as we are all connected to one web of life there are not separate changes going on around the globe. The whole planet is experiencing changes leading to a transition.

The solstice marks a time when we all acknowledge a change in seasons. And a change in seasons has broad implications as this also translates to a change in season for our lives.

So much is occurring globally and shifts, and changes will continue. To work in partnership and collaboration and cooperation with this great earth we must be able to listen. For in all true and gifted partnerships there must be a practice of listening.

Spend some time outside on this day and establish a practice of deep listening. This means be in silence and feel what the earth is sharing with you right now. Listen to any messages you might hear. Notice what images you get as you focus on listening to any wisdom the earth has to share with you.

During times of transition being able to receive guidance of how we can change to match the changes in the cycle of seasons is very important as we all search for how we can live from a greater place of harmony.

And during this day state your commitment to be in service to the earth and give thanks for all you receive from the elements of earth, air, water, and the sun so you may thrive and not just survive.

I wish you all a joyous summer and winter!!
