Transmutation News – April 2011

The day that the earthquake and tsunami occurred in Japan was also the day the planet Uranus moved into Aries beginning a cycle that will affect us for the next 84 years. The planet Uranus in astrology is seen as the planet of earthquakes and unexpected and sudden change.

I did send a broadcast email mid March speaking directly to how we can direct our spiritual work on behalf of Japan. And I hope you had a chance to read the email and reflect on and work with the material within the email.

I started to write this column weeks before the earthquake in Japan occurred. And I found that what I had already written is still relevant. For events are intensifying for all of us on a personal and global level. We are continuing to experience the song of dissolution, discreaton, and dismemberment throughout the globe through environmental, political, and economic challenges.

If you are new to reading The Transmutation News you might wish to read the issues I wrote starting from the fall of 2010 and continuing into this year. For I have been writing about how death is part of all transitions and how to surrender to what life is bringing for us as we move together towards a new evolution of consciousness. I also wrote about expanding our auras and becoming one with a spiritual pulsation and frequency that continues to shift the collective energy.

Our work is to really stay focused on being able to surrender to our deep spiritual wisdom and to be the dreamers to help birth a new vision of a healthy and harmonious life. We need to learn together the new songs of creation waiting to be sung.

And for those of us who do stay tuned to the news it can be hard to watch the destruction and the suffering for there are so many losses on all levels that we are witnessing.

During the winter I read different interviews with spiritual leaders such as the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, and Father Bede. When they were asked how they deal with watching so much suffering they all answered that they pray for hours a day and throughout the day.

I also read research that has been done on people who pray and meditate for hours a day versus minutes a day. And what has been found is that for those people who do pray for hours a day their brains produce hormones that create a state of sustained inner peace and joy.

Shamans, from indigenous cultures have said that we are dreaming the wrong dream. Other religious and spiritual teachings share that this world is an illusion, and we must learn to see beyond the illusion of egoic separation to tap into a state of light and connection in order to heal the suffering of the world.

My way of working to heal states of separation and to dream a new dream has been to practice the Medicine for the Earth work and to teach the work to others through my writing, lectures, and workshops. I share a wealth of spiritual practices and tools that create personal and global healing in Medicine for the Earth, How to Heal Toxic Thoughts, and How to Thrive in Changing Times.

The core of the teachings has been how to travel within to find our spiritual light and to see ourselves beyond a state of separation. Once we know the truth of who we truly are, which is divine spiritual light, we can radiate our brilliance into the world. And as we did come here to learn how to manifest spirit into form we must concentrate and focus our thoughts and words on creating a beautiful world for all of life.

It takes practice to focus on the beauty and not to react to the suffering around us. We do have to find ways to pray and to keep our prayers going all day. For me this has to do with giving thanks for the help we are receiving from God, the goddess, the helping spirits, the power of the universe. We all have to find the term for the numinous that relates to our beliefs.

We need to learn how to take the time to be able to travel within and tap into a spiritual state of consciousness so that we pray for and dream a new world into being by transcending our egoic desires and creating from a place of deep spiritual wisdom.

There has been an amazing shift of consciousness that we are witnessing throughout the planet. And we need to focus this shift in consciousness to be able to birth forth a more balanced and harmonious way of life versus giving into our egoic desires.

When we feel we have lost our way and we are reacting to so much change we must continue to surrender to our spiritual light to guide us through the dark times.

All minds and all life are connected. Even if we can experience for brief seconds our radiance this shift in consciousness does ripple throughout the entire web of life creating transformation. For all that goes on in the spiritual world is outside of time. One second of revelation creates healing and transformation that our minds simply cannot grasp.

If you feel your passion and spirit is calling you to help to midwife a new consciousness into being then you must find ways to pray and project visions of health, beauty, and harmony into the world as much as possible throughout the day. You must keep your words and train of thought focused toward the desired outcome. You must engage your imagination in a more focused way.

Although a second can create change think of what continued prayer and projecting positive visions can accomplish. This is what we can do to be part of a global shift. The work is anonymous and involves dynamic change through a state of being. This teaching is core to the spiritual work that has been handed down to us throughout the ages. We change the world by who we become and by radiating light and love and projecting positive visions from a divine state of consciousness.

Keep working with prayers for assistance to become a true channel of love as I wrote about last month.

Surrender to the collective pulsation of love and light and allow that frequency to move through you if even for seconds at a time.

In 2010 there were also some challenging events that created heart opening feelings for many people around the globe. At different times of the year I summarized the Medicine for the Earth work in some of the monthly columns. And in June of 2010 I wrote a summary of the Medicine for the Earth describing how the work addresses body, mind, and spirit.

Whether you are a new reader of the Transmutation News or someone who has been reading the column over time, I suggest that you visit the archives of this site and read The June 2010 Transmutation News or click on the link. It will help you to refocus your spiritual practice on how you can be in service.

In How to Heal Toxic Thoughts I share the story of Two Wolves that comes from indigenous traditions.

A grandfather was talking to his grandson about many things.

He said, “I feel as if two wolves are fighting in my heart. One wolf is vengeful, angry, violent, and the other is loving, compassionate, and strong.”

The grandson asked the grandfather, “Which wolf will win the fight in your heart?”

The grandfather replied, “The one I feed”.

The point of this teaching story was to say that we must learn to transmute and transform the energies behind our emotions so that we are feeding the collective with loving energies.

And I also want to encourage you to use this teaching story as a reminder to use the gift of your imagination to project positive visions and dreams into the world.

It is our perception that creates our reality. Remember your wonderful memories and dreams for your life and for the life of the planet. Project beauty into the collective. Plant seeds of love and beauty and inspiration in your inner garden so that they grow, blossom, and bear fruit here in our earth garden.

When you get caught up in the pain and suffering that you are seeing acknowledge how you are feeling. Allow your heart to open and expand and embrace all you are experiencing. And then refocus your energies to transmute the energy to love and refocus your imagination, thoughts, and words to create a new vision of a world filled with love.

In the bible there is a teaching that says, without a vision the people will die. The paradox we continue to dance is how to keep projecting a good and healthy vision for all of life while surrendering the outcome at the same time. We must continue to vision a new dream as the collective dream continues to dissolve.

It is so easy to stay asleep and get lost in the dense state of the collective. Focus on the vastness of your inner universe. Raise your frequency by experiencing your transcendent light. Pulsate love, divine light, joy into the web of life and the web of light.

You cannot perceive a higher frequency of the planet without raising up to a higher frequency yourself. There is a dimension of magnificence and radiance that we can all tap into. But first you have to become that higher frequency yourself. And as more and more of us can tap into this higher vibration of a dimension of reality filled with radiant light the more we project that dimension into the collective.

Let’s together set an intention to wake up. Take some walks in nature and feel the vibrancy of the natural world around you. Experience the hidden world that is part of nature. Wake up to the magic, vibrancy, and magnificence of life and project that with each breath and step you take in the world.

Here is a very inspirational experience that Karen Furr in Arizona shared with me. Karen leads a weekly transfiguration group in her community.

“I facilitate a monthly transfiguration group here in Kingman and thought you would like to hear a ‘report’…

This is from one of the participants:

Hi Karen,
Last month you requested that we each bring some earth from home to the Transfiguration ceremony. I went out and dug a small baggie full of sand from my rose bed.

After Transfiguration I dumped it in a pot in my bathroom. I had previously (two years ago) buried a couple of avocado seeds
that never grew. I figured they would just be compost for the soil. Anything I’ve planted in that pot has not grown.

A few days ago, I noticed that I had stems and leaves. I’ve done nothing differently such as watering, light, heat etc. with that pot
and now have two avocado plants growing! And growing quickly! This month I took a larger bag of earth and will amend the various plants in my home with it.

I believe this is proof that what happens in Transfiguration is powerful energy. If it can happen to soil, what is it doing to our human condition and the intentions we put into the circle? Thank you for being the guide for this powerful spiritual experience.”

I emailed Karen about this wonderful report and she let me know that after one week the avocado plants were 7 inches tall.

This is such a great story reminding us of the power and potential of our spiritual work. I hope you will be inspired to bring water and soil into your transfiguration work.

Years ago, I coordinated global ceremonies on the Transmutation News where I would ask people to transfigure with water present on their altar and then to bring the water to larger bodies of water where they lived.

This is work we can keep up in our personal practices or with the groups we work with. Bringing blessed water to larger bodies of water is a way to bring healing and love to the waters of the world. Bringing soil filled with love and brilliant light is a way to honor and respect our earth garden. It is time to deeply honor and respect the elements which give us life. As we continue to do this as a global community the elements will reflect honor and respect back to us.

Sometimes I get an email or letter from someone who is asking that we direct light to a particular place on the planet. Diana, a dear friend of mine wrote me last month. For 9 years she has been very involved in working with courageous Afghan women leaders, helping them to provide healthcare, education and legal aid, so that they can improve quality of life for all Afghans.

The Taliban extremists are increasing violent attacks targeting Afghan women leaders involved in education, legal work, journalism, any of the professions. And they target those who support them. In a sad irony, the Afghan government itself is trying to undermine the little protection Afghan women have against violence, most recently by trying to seize control of all shelters which had been set up to protect battered and abused women. International outcry forced President Karzai and his government to backtrack on that issue, but the extremist element continues.

To quote Diana:

“I will be joining farflung moon-sisters on the full moon – asking the Great Mother to send down healing, love, light, peace to ‘All Beings Without Exception’ in the Buddhist phrase – to Afghan women, children and men suffering in the ongoing violence and destruction and even, or especially to the Taliban and Al Queda and extremist elements in the government bent on their destructive mission. We also ask the Goddess to extend her love, compassion, and light to all foreign military factions on Afghan soil. (And elsewhere, all over the world.)

We pray, at this full moon, that She will heal us of our fear and quicken all hearts toward the impossible, the necessary realization that we are all one Being–and what happens to the ‘least’ of us, happens to us all. We pray that the Great Mother help all without exception awaken to the joy of this truth and begin to live it from the very depth of our souls. “

If you feel so called to be part of this healing collective, we can join Diana during this full moon.

Remember that the media moves on after covering environmental, political, and economic events. People and all of life are still suffering the effects of the earthquake in Haiti and in New Zealand, the oil spill in the Gulf, the floods in Australia, the extreme weather in the U.S., Europe, and in South America – these are just to name a few. People in the Middle East are still fighting for freedom and thousands are being killed and tortured in their quest. And the list goes on.

All of life needs us to be a channel of light and love right now. We are not separate cultures or separate countries. We are all going through an initiation together. We are all connected to one web of life.

The full moon is April 17. Let us take the day to focus together on expanding our auras and connect together as one beaming pulsation of light as we continue to weave the web of light. Let us beam light and love to Japan and to all places and beings in the world facing challenges right now. Let us weave love and light throughout the earth so that the web of life holds us in love and with honor and respect.

A Message from Sandra Ingerman Regarding World Events:

Our hearts expand as we embrace the enormity of all the pain being suffered by the people and all living beings in Japan who have been impacted by the earthquake and the tsunami.

When we feel that our hearts are breaking as we watch levels of suffering in actuality our hearts are expanding allowing us to be stronger and deeper channels of love and light.

Let us journey deep within ourselves transcending our egos and experience the vastness of our spiritual light and love. In this way we become beacons of light and love for all of life in Japan. Let us expand our individual aura and become one with a spiritual pulsation and frequency to transform the radiation that is moving into the atmosphere.

Move out of a place of pity for the suffering you see and focus on the strong spirit of the people, all of life, and the land itself. In this way you project strength which leads to a foundation of support for all in need.

Let us sing songs of love and healing to the earth, the waters of the world, the air, and to the element of fire. Go outside and sing!

There is an extreme level of panic that is being “blasted” into the collective over the fear of radiation moving through our atmosphere.

Of course there are precautions we all must take on a physical level. But it is also important to remember that it is our egos that are moving into panic.

It is crucial right now that you do the spiritual work you have been practicing over the years. Take the time to find your center. Go out and spend lots of time in nature to center and refocus. Breathe deeply and remember that you are spiritual light and have all the tools and internal spiritual wisdom to guide you during this time.

As a global community we do have great power as we work together spiritually. Let us project a vision of healing and peace. Project a vision of cooling for the nuclear reactors and further disaster being avoided.

Do your transfiguration practice daily and throughout the day and experience yourself as divine light. Divine light has the power to transmute and transform all energies into healing energies. For thousands of years mystics and spiritual healers throughout the world have been using this way of working to transmute toxins and illness. Let us carry on the work that has shown itself to have so much potential for healing.

We must strengthen our spiritual connections so that we can always be open to receive spiritual information when we need it.

Spend a lot of time in nature connecting with the elements and the heartbeat of the earth. Reflect on how you can live a way of life that embraces beauty, harmony, honor and respect for all of life. When we as a collective start to live a harmonious way of life we will see the elements around us reflect back a state of harmony.

Learn to read the omens that nature will continue to show to help guide you.

We must learn to honor the rite of passage and initiation that humankind is going through. We are experiencing levels of death on many levels. Death is not an end but rather is a transition.

In the bible it says that without a vision the people will perish. We are the dreamers of our world. Part of living a spiritual way of life is to be able to surrender to our deep spiritual wisdom and be the dreamers to help birth a new vision of a healthy way of life. We need to be able to hold a vision that the collective can move towards as the old is dismembered. Reflect on the vision you want to be projecting into the world right now and make changes to your vision to lead to a desired outcome. Engage your imagination in a more focused way. Project the best for all of life.

Build up your spiritual muscles!

Let us together hold the planet in love.

Remember that the media moves on after covering environmental, political, and economic events. People and all of life are still suffering the effects of the earthquake in Haiti and in New Zealand, the oil spill in the Gulf, the floods in Australia, the extreme weather in the U.S. – these are just to name a few. People in the Middle East are still fighting for freedom.

All of life needs us to be a channel of light, love, and spiritual healing. We are one collective. We are not separate cultures, separate countries. We are going through an initiation together. Let us do our work and live our lives in a good way. That is how we can be in service to the whole.

During the full moon let us transfigure and experience our divine nature as we beam light and love throughout this great earth.

During the equinox remember the wonderful memories and dreams for your life and for the life of the planet. Project beauty into the collective. Plant seeds of love and beauty and inspiration in your inner garden so that they grow, blossom, and bear fruit here in our earth garden.

Most of all be a channel of love and light in behalf of all of life!

Transmutation News – March 2011

In most cross -cultural creation myths it is taught that creation started with a sound, word, song, or chant. And if you think about it there are many examples we can find where discreation, dismemberment, dissolution also has come from sounds, words, and songs.

In Egypt the people came together and sang, “No more police state.” And the dissolution of old forms has begun. We pray together that this transition will lead a new government that can hold to freedom and a democratic way of life.

I started to meditate and reflect on this incredible event in Egypt. For I believe that the song of the people is very significant as we continue to watch old forms around us dissolve.

Initiation is the death, dismembering, and dissolving of old forms/structures/ways of life. And I have come to understand that true initiation is allowing spirit to sing into creation the new forms and new creations. Allowing spirit to sing formlessness into form creates a new evolution of consciousness.

Most of us immediately move into an egoic state of trying to create forms out of the dissolution that are familiar to us and allow us to feel safe. For from an egoic point of view the unknown and formlessness is dangerous. Can we let go of control issues and surrender to spirit at this important time of initiation? Do we try and force a rebirth with recreating old forms that do not represent the evolution of spirit moving through us?

About a month I was communicating with Megan McFeely via email about an interview we did together last year. And I was writing about my process of learning to surrender to the unknown.

She sent me a great quote I would like to share with you:

“When the forms of an old culture are dying, the new culture is created by a few people who are not afraid to be insecure.” – Rudolf Bahro

I have also been thinking about how this power of word and song creating positive dissolution is coming out of the Middle East where there was once such a rich ancient civilization that respected the deep mysteries. This civilization ended giving birth to the rise of a culture which seems to be dying to something new again.

Surrender seems to be a key issue for us during this rich time of transition and initiation. And I would like to share some more reflections I have had recently.

When I lecture on the Medicine for the Earth practices I always talk about the formula for transmutation: intention + union + love + harmony + concentration + focus + imagination. And I give stories and examples of each of these elements and how they work together to create personal and global healing as I share in my book Medicine for the Earth.

As I talk about love I typically say I hope I do not have to explain love. I also share that it is love that heals versus methods or techniques. For truly the power of love to create healing and transformation is unlimited. Love creates miracles.

Now the question arises for me of do we really understand love? I think we all have an understanding of love and I think the reason we are born into this world and into a body is to learn about love. And all living beings want to be loved. But as an egoic being who perceives itself as separate from the divine source can we truly experience the true nature of love?

When the spiritual masters of past and present times have performed miraculous healings they have all been in a state of oneness where true love flows through from the power of the universe. And love is not a concept that can be understood or rationalized. It is an energy that either you experience or don’t. Love is a formless energy that has no bounds just like the energy of light and how we can radiate light.

Over the last couple of years I have given the exercise on the Transmutation News to perform a meditation to experience the love that went into your creation. And if we can really experience this love on a cellular level everything in our life changes.

But at the same time the nature of human beings is to try and understand energies. And there is no way to understand the energy of love and light.

If we really experienced true unconditional love of source and allowed that to flow through us would we be seeing the illnesses and challenges we are facing today? And if love does heal how do we move our rational mind out of the way and surrender to this pure power? This love is in our cellular memory as we were created from unconditional love. But again it is the type of love that transcends and is beyond our egoic understanding.

The more we try and strive the more we separate from the true power of love. For the act of trying creates separation.

So what I am suggesting? What would happen if we ask the universe, God, the goddess, the divine, to help us? What would happen if we say, “Thank you for helping me open to your love”? What would happen if we stop trying to understand how to get to such a luminous state of being and just open and give thanks for the experience of love?

If you feel like you have been trying too hard to reach a luminous spiritual state it might be time to simply open and surrender to the creative force of the universe to experience the power of true unconditional love. And it is only in the experience can we be a channel for that love to flow through us to heal.

When life circumstances continue to pull you out of yourself, keep holding the question: How do I regain my inner center and state of peace, joy, and love – my true nature? Let the universe respond to this call.

Now I do want to say that there is a process that will occur as you open your heart to bring through unconditional love.

First we need to move the energy from our minds into our heart. And when we do this we find it is time to work on the unexplored and unexpressed emotions that live in our heart. Denial is just one more block to being able to expand on a heart level.

You might find that you need to seek out help from a psychotherapist, or work with spiritual practices to help you get in touch with what emotions have not been worked through, or that you need to find physical forms of expression, or a combination of all the above.

Information feeds the mind and you might need to start to explore what feeds your heart.

Also love means being able to speak the truth. So I am not saying that as you open your heart you should not speak the truth of what your heart feels whether you are feeling pain around personal and/or global issues. Again denial does not create the heart opening needed to allow true love to flow through.

And you must learn how to ground heart energies through your body. Many of us keep our energies engaged in rational minds. But to be a true vessel for love and spiritual energies we must allow the energy to move down from our heads throughout our entire body and into the earth.

One form of disconnection that we have been working with over the years has been the disconnection from source when we only acknowledge the egoic part of ourselves. Another form of disconnection is when we separate our heads from our hearts. And this is a disconnection that also must be healed for true healing and transformation to take place.

As in the Northern Hemisphere we approach the spring equinox we tend to think of new growth bursting forth. We all know how love feeds the new growth, flowers, plants, blossoms, vegetables etc. We all have witnessed the difference of a garden tended with love. Do we try to give love to a garden? Or is this just a state of being?

Do we try and give love to a baby? Do we try and give love to a family member or a life partner? Or with true love do we just enter into a state of being?

I am raising all these questions as it seems like we are experiencing a quickening on the planet. And the time is now to experience that true power of love flowing through us. Yet it is a state that cannot be learned by following a rational path of “education”. We need the divine to help us to experience the strength and beauty of this power.

Start to decree everyday I give thanks to the divine force, the creative force of the universe, source to help me to open to the experience of love that went into my creation. Keep this up everyday. As we open together as a global community love can once again flow through each and everyone of us creating healing and transformation.

On March 20 those of us in the Northern Hemisphere celebrate the spring equinox. And those of us in the Southern Hemisphere are moving into autumn.

Go outside and ground yourself to the earth. Feel the energy of love for life moving down from a mental concept to a true energy that feeds you, all of the life, and the earth and the elements.

Ask your heart what will feed your heart and the earth?

On this day let us feed the bright energies of life.

When you wake up in the morning look at yourself in the mirror and reflect on the shine in your eyes and the brightness that you are radiating. Even if you do not perceive yourself as bright acknowledge that you are. Our perception creates our reality. When you feed your light your light shines through you.

And with everyone you talk to during this day comment on how their eyes are shining today or how bright and wonderful they look. Watch what happens as you do this. I can guarantee you that you will start a chain reaction of bright smiles whereever you are willing to acknowledge the light in all you meet.

In spring we look forward to the brightness of new life. We all know how new life blossoming into the world shines. I have been around many people who are dying. And it is so common that as people prepare to die they shine so brilliantly as their spirit shines through them. So even as we celebrate the time of autumn and letting go of the old we see spirit shining through what is preparing to fall back into the earth.

In birth and death we radiate light as light shines through us strongly as we are so close to spirit in these cycles of life. And we always have the choice to choose oneness over separation and shine every day of our lives. And through acknowledging the light in others we help them shine too. Be a light in the world and help others to be a light too. Through the transformative power of light and love we move together in this next phase of evolution. And as I wrote about last month we create a strong spirit boat to carry us through the waters of change.

I wrote this part of the Transmutation News on a day in Santa Fe, New Mexico where it had snowed and then the sun came out. Right after I wrote about feeding the light in others a wind came up blowing the snow in front of my window. As the sun came through the snow flakes I was in awe of the brilliance of sparkling lights filling the air. This was a good omen!

The full moon is March 19. Let us shine together as one beautiful web of light. Deepen your experience into oneness. Sing, dance, meditate to fully move out of a state of separation and become a vessel for light and love to move through.

And let us acknowledge the light shining through each and every one in our global community.

For those of you new to reading The Transmutation News please visit “Creating A Human Web of Light” on the homepage of this site for the instructions for our full moon ceremonies.

To all of you celebrating the equinox, our global community wishes you a joyous spring or autumn. Open to love and be a channel for that love. Connect your heartbeat with the heartbeat of the earth and the web of life. And sing in joy for gratitude for your life!

Transmutation News – February 2011

Through the month of January we watched many tragedies. We saw the tragedy of political intolerance and emotional instability in the shootings in Arizona. We watched how the waters are reflecting our state of imbalance as floods devastated parts of Australia and Brazil. We watched the violence in Tunisia as people expressed their dissatisfaction with how the country was being run. These are just a few examples of challenging global events.

And due to these tragedies we also saw the strength of the human spirit shining through as well as communities coming together to help those in need.

We continue to see the best of humans and we are also reminded of the effects of what happens when we do not treat others and the earth with honor and respect.

I checked in with Terri who lives in the part of Australia that was so severely flooded. Terri is a brilliant shamanic practitioner and has been a devoted member of our global community as she is so committed to working with the information written about in each Transmutation News.

I wanted to share part of the email Terri sent to me. For it is an example of the power of community coming together to help each other. It talks about the strength of the human spirit. And it also speaks to how the earth heals herself and has a plan that from an egoic/rational perspective we just don’t always understand.

From Terri:
“I have just returned from helping at a Catholic Church delivering lunches to people with washed out homes and no power. The spirit of the human army (10s of thousands of regular neighbourly helpers) that has gone out to help people in their hour of need is quite extraordinary!

The spirit of the people I delivered to today are well and truly shining, with brave and cheery hearts! The pain of loss is there, but they rise above it.

The way people came together to just do what was needed at any given time without asking for any permission from local or federal government authorities worked so well. The people’s authority came from within their hearts and minds and they took action to help.

Mother nature is greening up Australia after years of drought. Species of plants popping up, thought to be extinct, not seen in two decades are exciting the biologists!”

This continues to be a time where we are being asked to make changes in how we live our lives and learning about the impact on our behavior of others and the earth itself.

In life I think we all find that the lessons we learn seem to keep spiraling back around to create deeper and deeper levels of change.

One of the issues that keeps spiraling around for me is the issue of protection. And what I mean by protection is the ability of one person or a group of people to protect others from some level of suffering – physically, emotionally, or spiritually.

For there is a part of all of us that wants to protect loved ones from suffering.

Although this is an issue I have looked at throughout my life I feel that during 2010 the universe brought me situations to take me to a deeper level of seeing how it is not possible to control what life brings to and for any of us.

I have been taking care of my 96-year-old parents. They have an amazing strength of spirit and have risen to meet challenges that no one thought they would get through. And at the same time my perception of them is that on a physical level they are quite frail. So in choosing to be around them in the way I am “my mother instinct” comes out and I want to protect them.

Last fall I found the more I tried to protect them the more situations were created that were beyond my control. The lesson for me was how to be there for them, provide comfort, see them as spiritual beings, and let go of trying to control what life brought to them. For truly they are on their own life journey.

As I reflected on all the lessons I learned from my experiences last fall I felt that I was learning some important lessons in my role as a teacher. Again these were lessons I had gotten before. I just felt like my life journey was leading me to a deeper level of knowledge.

There are so many books, lectures, and workshops that are showing people how to shift out of a dense state of consciousness. These teachings help us to embrace ancient spiritual practices that remind us that we are spirit, we are divine, we are light, we are love and we are loved, and that we are connected to the web of life.

The lessons that life is bringing for all of us right now is to help us tap into our spiritual world where our inner wisdom and inner spirit can shine through the darkness and challenges that we are faced with.

For me the continual reminder is that I cannot do the work for another. Every person must find the strength of his/her inner spirit and stand up and do the work needed to heal, transform, and then create a better life.

For those of us already doing the spiritual work we must continue to deepen how we live the work. As we shine our lights then people want to know how they can shine too. So the true teaching comes from “being” rather than trying to do something to change our outer world or by trying to get another person to change. We have to be the energy.

This takes us back to the core inspiration of the Medicine for the Earth work that it is who you become that changes the world and not what you do. For the best way to be a true leader right now is to just “be” the teaching. Then people want to experience the state of joy, peace, kindness, love, and light that they perceive in you. But to try and convince people to do the work or to even think you can do the work for them is a misperception. And for those of us who want to protect others from suffering we end up crippling them in the end. For those who have the greatest transformations and healing are people who go within and find the strength of spirit that can embrace and transform all that life brings for them.

Being human and living here on earth is being in “earth school”. And part of the learning is how to surrender to “Thy Will be Done” and stop trying to control life as an egoic being that wants to feel safe and secure. When I use the term “Thy Will be Done” it refers to surrendering to spirit. We have to find the term and belief system that works for us whether this means our higher self, our divine light, oneness, God, the goddess, the power of the universe, our helping spirits, etc.

The teaching is that we must evolve beyond our controlling egos, surrender to spirit, and know that our divine spirit will rise to all that life brings to us. The stronger we can become on a spiritual level we can be role models for others to do the same.

Another part of being the energy has to do with learning how to hold the space for others and being a light in the midst of change and chaos.

For the chaos created by the dissolution of a way of life that no longer works will continue. We can’t say well I will do my spiritual practices once life calms down for me or when a certain situation I am facing resolves itself.

We must continue to transmute/transform the depth of emotions that are triggered by events and people who come into our lives. We must continue to explore the gifts of the teachings given to us so we can transform and evolve to a new way of being in the world.

It is important to take time out from what is happening in our lives and merge into the one pulsation of energy that has great power to heal. In this state we can feed the collective with compassion and kindness.

When we become one pulsation of energy this does add to the breakdown of a reality that no longer works. For the pulsation of energy leads to transformation and healing. This breakdown feels like chaos to our egoic selves that are lost in the illusion of separation. When we feel like we have moved into chaos this is a time to hold a strong intention to “be the energy” of love and light so that energy is part of the recreation and what is being woven into the new fabric of reality.

There are huge waves of change flowing through the planet. There are times when the waves are smooth and fun to play in. And there are times when the waves are turbulent and we feel like we are being tossed around. This is all part of nature. For the cycles of nature include the storms and the times of calm.

Part of riding the waves has to do with “the boat” you have built. The depth of your spiritual practice builds a strong boat to ride the waves. The connection with our global community also has created a strong boat where we can ride the waves together.

Think of the difference of riding the waves in a raft that is filled with holes versus a strong large boat. Our spiritual practices and our spiritual connections create a strong container that holds strong in the midst of the waves of change. You can rely on this boat to hold you through whatever comes.

We are very lucky to have strong spiritual practices to carry us and a strong global community to hold us. And part of strengthening our container is to feel gratitude for how we are being held right now with love and light through the breath and the cycles of the one pulsation of life.

Over the years we have been working together to dream into being the world we wish to live in. We have been using all of our senses of seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, and tasting what such a world would be like as if our creation had already manifested. I wrote about this practice in Medicine for the Earth, How to Thrive in Changing Times, and Awakening to the Spirit World.

Here is another way to work with this practice. Work with the personal experience of seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, and tasting yourself as being centered, filled with inner joy and inner peace, and shining your light no matter what is happening in the outside world. Deepen the sensations of beauty as you use your imagination to form your creation.

What would you look like in this state of being and how would you see the world around you?

How would the sounds of nature feed your joyful bright state?

What would the feelings be as light flowed through you and throughout every cell of your being? And how would it feel to walk on the earth and touch all that is alive?

How would the smell of fragrances and tastes of food become heightened as you reach such a state of light?

Experience this state as if you are living filled with radiance, love, joy, and peace right now.

You have achieved a heightened state of consciousness now! Experience it fully. And so it is.

Along with this practice continue to go within to your inner garden. Continue to plant small areas of your garden with seeds of good memories and what you are grateful for.

To deepen your work in your inner garden take some time to meditate or journey and merge with the earth in your garden. Observe how healthy the soil is by examining the health and strength of the flowers and plants that are growing out of the earth. This will give you some clues to the care that your inner garden requires.

February 18 is the full moon. We have been using the time of the full moon to strengthen the web of light that all of life is part of. And we have been using the full moon to radiate light into our global community helping to heal those who are struggling.

Let us refocus our energies together as we allow that which keeps us separate to drop away. And feel our light radiating and expanding into one pulsation transmitting love and light within and throughout the web of light.

And let us continue to strengthen our container, our spiritual boat, as a global community by radiating love and light to all connected to our circle so committed to holding strong together as we move into oneness.

Transmutation News – January 2011

Choosing Joy!

I invite you to take a minute to close your eyes and take some deep breaths. Put your hands on your heart and feel yourself breathing through your heart. Think about how much you love the earth and how grateful you are for your life. And now let us wish everyone in our global community a blessed New Year!

In the last few months I have been writing quite a bit about death, letting go and surrendering. For with every change and transition there is a death. But we also have to keep in mind that death is not an end. You cannot destroy energy – energy transforms. Fear keeps us in a contracted state and when we can finally surrender and let go we experience an expanded state of awareness.

At some point you have to decide for yourself when it is time to start to re-imagine and rebuild a new path that leads to a new life. At some point we have to choose to branch out or spiral out from a path of pain and suffering and start to take all that energy that is available that has been let go of to recreate something new.

You will know inside yourself when the time has come to say okay I have died to what needs to be let of go of for now and it is time to focus on the rebirth. You will know when it is time to experience the phoenix rising up anew out of the flames.

The information I have received on this from my own helping spirits has given me a way to begin and once again feel tremendous hope. I am a person who gets overwhelmed when a clear path is not shown to me.

For myself I can’t just go from death of old beliefs and an old way of life to a whole new life created instantaneously. I need baby steps of where to put my foot next.

I was shown that it is time to start to recultivate my inner garden. I have been writing about that everything is born from within us. Like plants and trees growing strong roots into the earth a plant grows from the seeds that we plant. If we plant seeds of fear, sadness, hopelessness that is what will grow in both our inner and outer garden. For as above, so below, as within, so without.

I was given an exercise to start to slowly replant my garden so that I do not overwhelmed. I was told to start with just a very small circle in my garden – maybe the size of a small to medium sized pot that I would grow a plant in. I was told to imagine this small plot of land in my inner garden. And with this very small area in my garden I was told to imagine myself pouring in love and nurturance to fertilize the soil. Then using the principles of creating new neural pathways to start to imagine a simple happy memory feeding my garden.

Last month to end the year I asked us all to focus on a simple good memory to end the year with. Examples might be eating a favorite food, focusing on a beautiful image from nature, a favorite scent, a great feeling, or hearing a wonderful sound such as birds singing, water flowing, the sound of gentle breezes.

If everyday and throughout the day you can take a simple joyful memory and plant it in your small plot in your inner garden this joyful memory can take root. This will impact the new rebirth and a spring filled with hope and possibilities. This allows for a rebirth of life that spirals away from the suffering of what you have let go of.

But you need to create a partnership with your brain to do this. As we birth the new into the world spiritually with the thoughts and words we use we must also team up with up with our brain and activate new neural pathways that will help lead us to our desired outcome.

As you work with your brain by creating new neural pathways this helps to rebuild your inner beliefs and thoughts leading to a new joyful way of life.

Throughout life we will continue to spiral through cycles of death and rebirth. It is important to remember the rebirth part of the cycle. And as we birth a new personal and collective world we must plant the seeds, be an architect and imagine the new plan, and sculpt a new world. At some point as the old fabric of reality dissolves the choice of what you wish to create is in your hands.

For me slow and steady is helpful instead of creating too big of a vision that I don’t know how to manifest. Starting with planting joyful memories that can grow into joyful plants and a joyful way of life is a good start.

For this month of January as we begin a New Year I ask you to join me in finding a small plot in your inner garden and start fertilizing it with love and light and fill it with happy memories. Death will continue throughout the collective of old ways that no longer serve life. Some of us have to be willing to plant the new seeds of a harmonious and joyful way of life.

I also received a very important message from my helping spirits about the power of pride. Many of us in the spiritual community get nervous when we talk about pride as often we associate being proud or too filled with pride with being too egotistical.

My helping spirits gave me a different perspective on pride (in the most positive sense of the word) that I had not considered. As I have written over the years love is an important energy that fuels the power of our creation. Having passion for what we are doing also fuels what we can manifest in the world.

My spirits shared with me that having pride in our work is powerful fuel that also adds to the success of our work and also creates a larger field of energy around what we are manifesting. This larger field of energy attracts success.

As we feed our garden with happy memories I also invite all of you to take some time to feel pride for all the work you have been doing in service to all of life on the planet. Infuse your creation work with pride. This is another step in empowering our ability to manifest the world we wish to live in. And let’s give thanks to each other for the work we continue to do. I ask each of you to receive the thanks from our global community with pride!

And let’s keep us the work of expanding into one field of energy that pulses in oneness, unity, love and light creating the transformation needed to manifest harmony and peace on this great earth. Remember that your words and thoughts continue to be transmitted into the field of energy of the planet. Be conscious of what you are transmitting.

Let us join our hearts together in one pulsation as we continue to weave a brilliant web of light throughout and within our planet on the full moon which is January 19. Feel the radiance and love infusing the web of life.

I woke up one morning with this wonderful inspiration coming through:

Sail away from the past
And sail towards the brightness and vast possibilities of a new future!!

Transmutation News – December 2010

We are coming to the end of a pretty wild year. As I have been teaching a lot and in communication with teachers, practitioners, and students I am aware that it is almost like an endless string of challenges have been presenting themselves.

I myself continue to be presented with people and situations that reflect the shadow aspects of life. And dealing with daily issues that arise I find myself being asked to stay very present and just rise to the occasion with each situation. It has been a time for me to stand up and speak my truth. And I also have been surrendering to all that life is bringing to me right now and willing to experience the teaching that comes with each new challenge. I find that as I can experience the teachings that life brings I can make new choices that lead to a healthier way of being in the world. And I believe this holds true for all of us.

For I believe that for all of us who are walking a spiritual path we are also on a continued path of initiation. These initiatory experiences create a shift in consciousness. And in going through the rite of passages we are being faced with letting go of relationships and ways of life that are not healthy and harmonious.

There really isn’t a choice about going through an initiation. A metaphor would be saying that you want to get off an airplane while flying at 30,000-40,000 feet. The journey is in motion and can’t be stopped. The more you stop resisting what life brings to you the easier it is to reach within yourself and allow your spirit to guide you step by step through the dark places in your life.

Life is change. And life and change are in movement. There is a flow to life. Life is never stagnant. As we learn how to “go with the flow” instead of resisting the flow of energy we suffer less. Some people are trying to hold on to an old way of life and some have let go and are now grieving the loss as old ways of life that no longer serve dissolve away.

When we are guided by our egos we are truly misguided. When we are guided by our spirit and divine knowing we move from denser states of consciousness. But as we move from denser states of consciousness, what we need to say good bye to what will be presented to us.

It is important to remember the practices that can be supportive to you during these changing times. Watch your train of thought and where your thought process is leading you to. Be observant to the words that you use to describe your life and the world. Be diligent in staying true to the power of the spiritual work you engage in for that will determine the outcome of where you move to during this initiatory phase of life.

Read books and listen to lectures that inspire you. For it is so easy in the midst of life challenges to forget what you have learned. And you might need the words of another to help you remember to stay true to your spiritual path.

This is a time on the planet where we must gather our spiritual strength and stay focused and centered. Do what you need to do to get the support you need right now to remember the truth of who you are. You are divine light and you are one with the creative force of the universe. You are loved and you came here to love as well as shine your spiritual light. Your ego is being carved away so that you can be a beacon of light. As you surrender to life’s initiations the path inward to your inner light, knowing, and love will be obvious to you. It is in the resistance that the path becomes cloudy. It is in the resistance that we experience fear and pain. Surrender brings peace.

Last month I wrote about the evolution to become one pulsation of loving light. As you do this you will notice that your frequency starts to change. And as I wrote above denser states of consciousness that prevent you from vibrating at a higher level will show themselves to be worked through and healed.

As you experience this pulsation you will notice that you are actually being led to becoming a conscious transmitter. Over the years I have been writing about radiating light. Another level or quality of this radiation is transmission. We have a lot in common with crystals and as humans we transmit frequencies just as crystals do. Typically we transmit all kinds of energies into the world without awareness to what we send.

We have a real opportunity right now as we shift our frequency and fine tune to purer energies to transmit these beautiful and harmonious energies out to the world.

And if we see ourselves as transmitters of energies we can become more aware of what we are transmitting. We can use discipline to transmit love, light, peace, and harmony. Think of radio waves that go out as concentric circles of energy riding through the airwaves. As you start with focus and discipline this will become more of a flow as it becomes part of how you breathe and walk in the world.

Those of you experiencing challenges might feel that it is hard to focus on transmitting the positive into the world. You might have felt that you have lost your way and your vision. Remember that each path is walked step by step. Find a very small step you can take to return to the divine within. Find a very small step to take to begin to transmit divine light into the world.

I have written about the science of neuroplasticity. The scientific community now understands that the brain is flexible and that we can heal ourselves by creating new neural pathways. And one way new neural pathways are created is by changing your thought patterns leading you away from your thoughts of despair and defeat to thoughts that will lead you to success.

A very simple way to begin this process is to think of good memories like the first time you ate ice cream, saw snow, saw a butterfly, saw a beautiful sunrise or sunset, smelled a beautiful flower or scent, heard birds singing, etc.

This month let us join together to think about some good memories about this past year. Instead of focusing on what did not work for you think about at least one good thing that did happen for you. Think about something beautiful you saw, felt, heard, smelled, and tasted.

Let us start to create new neural pathways of the collective conscious and begin to move forward in our energetic pulsation to experience a transformation into living a consciousness of love, harmony, peace, and honor and respect in the coming year.

We can make it happen as we expand our energy field to become one with the energy of each other and pulsate to create transformation. And this means that there are deaths we will experience as a collective. But with all death comes a rebirth like the phoenix that rises out of the fire into a new life.

December 21 is both the full moon and the winter solstice. For those of you in the Southern Hemisphere you are celebrating the beginning of summer.

Here is what I was guided to share with you to celebrate the winter solstice or the summer solstice.

Think about a public figure who is very successful in putting change into motion. This figure could be one who you like or dislike. The changes they are making might be in alignment with creating harmony on the planet. Or you might choose a person whose decisions, principles, policies are actually destructive to the planet. Basically you are looking for a person who is exhibiting great power.

Study their energy. Really sink in to how they operate energetically. You will notice they are filled with a passionate fire. They might be using it to create peace or harmony or they might be using it for personal gain. What you want to experience is how strong their inner fire or their inner sun is.

Learn from them. And then during the solstice start to set an intention to stoke the inner fire within you. For as a spiritual community we must move into a place where we are passionate about making transformative changes in the world. We must be people of power.

As we stoke our inner fire, our inner sun, we fuel our creative power in the world. And then let’s join our fires together as we continue to use our imagination to use our senses to draw down, to create, to manifest a world filled with harmony as if it is here right now. We have to be passionate and filled with love to fuel the power of creation.

And then the pulsation of energy we can create together becomes strong enough to move through the world in a transformative way.

As we stoke our inner fire, our inner sun let us join together on December 21 as a pulsation of light that strengthens the web of light we have been weaving together as a global community for over 10 years now.

Let us transmit light and love into our global community continuing to project good health and success into our circle empowering all of us to continue to flow with the new opportunities that are being presented to all of us as we flow into the change of season and the New Year.

Transmutation News – November 2010

I had a very full and wonderful teaching schedule in September and October. Before I started teaching in September I had received a very profound teaching that I wove into some of my workshops this fall.

I had taken a shamanic journey to speak to Isis who is my spiritual teacher. I had wanted to ask a question about an issue in my life. She did answer my question and then volunteered a path I should take in my teaching around how we can work from a deeper place as a global community.

She acknowledged that the way we have been working as a global community has been a positive healing force in the world. But she said there is another level to evolve to.

In the shamanic community when people work together on one intention to help someone or on a planetary issue each member of the community journeys to his or her own power animal or teacher to provide healing help. When we use transfiguration and the radiation of divine light each person transfigures into his or her divinity.

We know from years of working in this way that there is an exponential result when a group of people focuses on one intention versus an individual working alone.

The question Isis raised was what would happen if we dropped our individual work of going to our own helping spirits or perceiving ourselves as individuals transfiguring into divine light? What if we just drop our personal boundaries and gather our spiritual energy as one pulsating giant field? In other words this would mean merging our auras to create one group aura. This would mean becoming one field of energy.

Imagine what kind of transformative force this field of pulsating energy could be.

When Isis shared this information with me I also felt the information pulsating through every cell of my body. I completely experienced the transformative power and strength of this field of energy.

We continue to be touched by different events happening around the world where we are seeing the results of environmental disasters due to mining the earth for resources.

And we are all trying to find ways to be a positive force in the world as people are being asked to wake up and live from a place of honor and respect towards the earth, air, and water which give us life.

As I mentioned in a previous Transmutation News our modern world has created an unsustainable environment and it is time for us to tap into the great mysteries to find solutions. For as we trust our inner wealth of spiritual wisdom we will find the solutions needed to create a sustainable environment. And I also wrote about how the earth already knows how to heal itself and we can hold the space and support the earth’s own process.

I feel in every cell of my being as we learn to drop our individuality and focus on becoming one pulsating light energy together we can hold the space and raise the frequency so that all of life is lifted up out of a denser state of consciousness.

I invite you to work with this principle this month. You can do so as you continue your spiritual work of connecting into the web of life and light we have created.

Instead of seeing yourself as an individual transfiguring into divine light allow yourself to dissolve your energetic boundaries and merge your aura, your energetic field with the field of others in our community. Imagine yourself as part of one pulsating energy field of light.

You can try this at any time but let us to set an intention to work in this way on November 21 which is the full moon as we continue to create a human web of light.

For those of you who are new readers of the Transmutation News you can read the instructions for our full moon ceremony by reading “Creating A Human Web of Light” on this website.

Let us continue to work in this way as we lift our entire global community up into a new frequency which will create healing and transformation for all.

Let us continue to radiate this light into our circle on a daily basis and project the best by perceiving our global community experiencing inner joy and health.

By doing this we become a true positive transformative force in the world. We do this by continuing to feed the light of the earth and all of life.

There is more I can write about this month but I want to give all of you a chance to focus on the practice I have shared. We can distract ourselves with too much information. Stay focused and experience the power of the work for yourself.

I know many of you have felt called to do some work on behalf of the environmental disaster in Hungary. I suggest you work with what I have shared this month. And for more suggestions please look at the summary of practices I wrote up in the June Transmutation News when many of us were focused on working with the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Transmutation News – October 2010

Last month I ended the Transmutation News with a quote from Krishnamurti about living life. And when I reflect on living life to the fullest, a quality that goes along with this is experiencing unconditional love for who we are versus what we do.

I think that many of us were socialized at a very young age to behave in a certain fashion in order to receive love. We were taught to fit in with society and conform to certain standards. Many people were also taught not to shine too brightly and to be invisible. And we were given rewards for what we could do successfully versus rewarded for just being.

In the need to conform to experience some kind of love, in many ways we have forgotten that true love is accepting people for who they are – the presence they bring into the world. True love is acceptance versus having to strive to be something we are not or fitting into some definition of “a good person” by society.

So we strive to be accepted and to be loved instead of allowing ourselves to be who we are. We compromise our dreams and try to become who others want us to be.

The earth, the universe, God, the goddess, etc. love us for who we are. And as we can truly experience unconditional love with no strings attached and no expectations we can experience a deeper joy in life. This kind of love allows us to follow what we feel passionate about instead of living a life that fits into the definition of the life we should lead created by authority figures and society. A sense of freedom is experienced as we follow our own path versus trying to walk on a path that might not feel right for us on a personal level.

Somehow being loved and conforming became a theme for so many. But the true expression of love has nothing to do with conforming.

When one looks at the life of people who have committed some of the most heinous crimes one can see that these people have been extremely abused in childhood. And to add to this I do believe that people’s striving to collect more on a material level is really a substitute for feeling true love.

One of the benefits that many people report as they move into “elder” years is that they stop striving to be accepted. I have heard this from so many people and I know I have experienced this in my life. There is a sense of freedom one starts to feel when you are no longer dependent on what others think about you in order to feel good about yourself.

How much have we compromised ourselves in order to “get” love from others? And how much better would we feel if we accepted ourselves and loved ourselves unconditionally for who we are versus what we do?

First we have to be able to fully love ourselves before we can expect to see this love mirrored back to us by others.

In Medicine for the Earth I wrote about the power of writing our creation stories and learning about how we were created and who created us. And in How to Thrive in Changing Times I took the creation story to another level. In the instructions for writing your creation story I ask readers to experience the love from the creator that went into all of creation. And to add to that to experience the love that went into your creation. As we can experience this love on a cellular level our whole experience of life changes. For we realize that it is who we are that is so important to the web of life and not what we do.

During this month go back and work with your creation story as I describe in How to Thrive in Changing Times or in Medicine of the Earth.

If the books are not out in your language here are some simple instructions for you to work with. Put on some nice relaxing yet expansive music. Take some deep breaths. Take out some paper and find a pen. As you listen to the music keep your eyes partially closed. Write on the paper that you want to meet your creator and learn how you were created from love. Keep breathing deeply and hold you intention. And with your eyes partially closed just allow your pen to move. You are allowing the writing to come from a deep place inside of you, a place of true knowing versus from your rational mind.

You could also do this same experience without writing but through a meditation – holding the intention and allowing yourself to experience your creation story and how you were created from true love.

I know I have suggested this before in past issues of the Transmutation News. And I find that it is important to revisit certain exercises from time to time so that we can continue to express ourselves fully in the world. For the times we live in do not call for conforming. The times we live in call for creative expression. And creative expression comes from self-acceptance and tapping into our true knowing.

A deep sense of peace and joy comes when we can experience unconditional love from the earth, the universe, and for ourselves. And then life can unfold on a whole different level than when we feel we must fit into some mold that others have created for us.

Focus on experiencing unconditional love for yourself. Absorb into every cell of your being the love of the creator. And notice the difference of how you feel about yourself and life and how you begin to express yourself differently and then notice the life choices you start to make from this place.

For how can we be a true light in the world if we can’t experience true love? Last month I wrote about the need to trust ourselves fully. How can we trust ourselves if we don’t love ourselves? How can we truly follow our spiritual path and experience the beauty of life if we don’t love ourselves?

This is not about being self-absorbed. This is about understanding that we are loved and being a loving force in the world is the most powerful healing there is.

We need to love and trust ourselves in order to be a healing presence in the world.

In my continued spiritual work I keep getting that this is a time of great deepening for all of us. And as we learn to move from being so outer directed to inner directed we will find true joy, health, and the wealth we are seeking.

Learning how to trust ourselves and experience love for who we are is part of the steps we all must take as we nurture our inner garden. And another step is to deepen our connection with nature. This deepens our own nature, as we are part of nature too.

I know that everyone who reads the Transmutation News has a deep love for nature. There is a difference between loving nature and deepening your connection with nature.

Nature is a guardian spirit for all of us. And part of learning how to thrive in changing times is to continue to communicate with the nature around us. We need to spend more time in nature relaxing into our connection. We all know the healing power of getting away from our busy lives and taking a walk in a park or in a beautiful regenerating place.

We need to learn how to be observant of the signs and omens the natural world continues to show us. For nature itself reveals to us our next steps in life and how to live in harmony and balance.

Nature reveals to us through certain signs what changes are occurring and how to prepare for the times ahead. For example, many indigenous people teach that when there is an abundance of fruit and berries during summer nature is giving animals what they need to prepare for a harsh winter that is coming.

There are so many teachings that will come as we learn to observe the changes in the fauna and migration patterns of birds and animals. And as we watch the signs and omens that nature reveals we can connect once again to seasonal cycles, lunar cycles, and the cycles of life itself as we transition into new times.

Learning how to be one with nature and communicate with nature is a great way to deepen our connection with ourselves and the cycles of life.

This month journey or meditate to find a practice that you can bring into your daily life to help you watch for signs and omens and listen to messages that nature is giving you to light your path.

Create times to be outside and experience your connection with the heartbeat of the earth and experience the beauty and healing power of nature.

Whether you study alchemy, esoteric religions, old shamanic teachings, Buddhist teachings, and even new understandings that are being written about by neuroscientists you will find a very core teaching.

To heal from your past traumas and to create happiness you must replace old defeatist thoughts with thoughts that embrace new possibilities filled with joy. You need to replace traumatic memories with remembering joyful and loving feelings that you have had in life. A joyful memory might simply be how wonderful a favorite food tastes, a beautiful fragrance, an image you love, or the feel of something soft and comforting.

From a neuroscience point of view when you do this you create new neural pathways in the brain and then the brain continues to manifest this energy creating long term feelings of happiness.

From a spiritual perspective you cultivate your inner garden and your inner worlds so that the thoughts and feelings that live inside of you will be reflected back.

The key is not to repress the challenging emotions and thoughts that are coming up for you. The key is to replace your thoughts with inner self talk that will inspire you to move forward. And then to replace old memories that continue to be painful with memories of joyful experiences.

In this way we acknowledge all that has happened to us and at the same time create new possibilities for the opportunities for growth. This is a way to move out of feeling stuck and held back by our suffering and to fuel a new life for ourselves that ends up impacting the web of life.

Continuing a practice of working with your thoughts is a tried and true method that works. Make a commitment to yourself to catch yourself as defeatist thoughts and memories arise throughout the day. Make a choice to honor all that has happened to you and at the same time create a new road to walk down in life while aligning your thoughts with the positive world you wish to create.

The full moon is October 22. Filled with love for ourselves and all of life let us radiate our light together filling the web of light with joy, love, and our gratefulness for life.

Let us continue our healing work in behalf of our global community by continuing our transfiguration practice for each other and projecting health, joy, light, love, peace, and all good things onto our circle.

For instructions for our full moon ceremonies please read Creating A Human Web of Light on this site.

Transmutation News – September 2010

A few months ago I received a letter from an elderly woman who had found one of my earlier books in the library. She said that her life was full of troubles and her family was suffering from the economic downturn. She was reaching out to me out of desperation and was asking for some advice from me.

I really did not know what to tell her so I sent her as a gift a copy of my book How to Thrive in Changing Times. I was hoping the book would provide some inspiration to keep her moving forward.

I recently received a letter from her that she has redirected her negative thoughts to positive thoughts of love and light. And she says that she has seen results and all is turning around. This work is new to her and she never thought about things in the way that I shared in the book.

The woman who wrote me also said she has shifted her thinking from “I” can to “we” can change what is happening on the earth.

It is always wonderful to hear how simply people can learn the work we are doing together without any prior training and that results come very quickly when one can stay focused.

I do have an appreciation for science and technology. Some of the advances that science and technology have brought to the world have increased the quality of life.

And at the same time some of the methods used in advances in science and technology have made our environment unsustainable. The widespread use of chemicals have polluted the earth, water, and air and is affecting the health of all of life. We have mined the earth for resources in a way that is creating vast devastation around the planet. We have interfered with nature and we are now experiencing the consequences of this.

The good news is that we do have the ability to turn this all around. As part of finding solutions we need to go within to discover the wealth of inner resources where we can tap into our intuition, our programming to survive, and the deep mysteries that reside within.

With the focus only on a rational way of looking at the world, the psychic world and our intuitive abilities have been invalidated. Only what we can see, hear, feel, smell, and taste in the tangible world have been acknowledged as “real”. It is time to bridge science and spiritual work.

But we were all born with amazing spiritual abilities. And now more than ever I think we must tap into our resources to find the solutions to how we can transform what is happening on the planet and create a sustainable environment again so that all life might thrive.

Part of this journey has to do with trusting our inner guidance and the wealth of information that lies within. For most of us need to “see it” before we “believe it”. But now we need to “believe” before we will “see” the impact of our work.

We must explore the inner worlds to find true wealth, joy, and health. And once we experience those states within us then we can project them onto the outer world. For the outer world will mirror back to us what lives within. This is more than trying to visualize or to try to force change with our thoughts. This is about sinking into a true experience that will be mirrored back.

We must embrace the teachings of shamans and mystics who always taught that all the riches we are looking for in the outer world actually lie within each of us.

We must explore the invisible realms of spirit which are beyond the rational and tangible and wake up dormant abilities that lie within us. And as we wake up to our abilities and learn to set healthy intentions we can create the power needed to transform what is happening on the planet by working as a collective instead of by working alone. We magnify our power by working together as a collective.

There has been a great deal of research of what happens when a group holds an intention versus an individual working alone. And all of us who have worked with healing in group ceremonies know this first hand. This has always been a teaching in shamanism.

First we must learn to master and explore the inner worlds before we can truly understand the power of projection and how “the within” creates “the without”. And then we can join together as a collective to create powerful change.

People are already waking up the need to go within. I am constantly hearing from people who I meet from all walks of life, the wish for a quieter and simpler life.

I think the times will continue to draw us within for this is the next step of our evolutionary process. For as we discover our true nature of divine light and spirit we will experience our reflection in the outer world as was intended by our creator.

One of the most important keys is for us to experience deep changes within us on a cellular level which is beyond the rational mind. It is important for us to be the change versus thinking about the change. We often try to see things in our minds instead of embracing the feeling of the changes.

When we can experience the changes going on our vibration changes. And changing our vibration is what attracts different energies and events into our lives. For the universe always mirrors back to us our inner state of being.

Last month I wrote that finding stillness is key. And to that I would like to add that learning how to live life fully is also key.

Our trust in ourselves must lead the way. We must move from a place of believing that others have the answers and more power than us to unshakeable faith in ourselves and our ability to create positive change.

Many of us bought into a collective belief that we are not good enough and we can’t trust ourselves. We must shake this belief from ourselves like a branch of a tree will shake off any leaves or fruit that need to be let go of for the health of the tree.

In this powerful time of fall make a choice to shake off any beliefs that you have that prevent you from having complete trust and faith in yourself.

Shake off any beliefs that prevent you from fully stepping into your full power and joining with our incredible global community to create positive change for the planet.

Work on transforming your attitude. Appreciate what you do have instead of focusing on what you are lacking. This appreciation for all you have created will start a new vibration in your body that magnifies abundance instead of lack.

Let’s join together on September 22 during the fall equinox. Perform a personal ceremony or work in a group where you can literally do something physical to shake off and let go of any belief you have that you cannot trust yourself completely. You were born with all the information you need to create health, joy, and well being for yourself and the planet.

It is now the time to tap into your strength and wisdom and let it come forth to light the path so we can all move forward together as a collective.

It is in working as a collective that our exponential strength lies to be in service in the way we know is needed right now.

Once we have faith in ourselves then we also develop a deeper faith in our global community. We create a different vibration where our light can radiate forth from a deeper place.

I know you can feel the truth of these words. All is possible if we believe in ourselves and in our community that has been weaving a web of light for many years now.

Allow the vibration of this light to shine with a higher frequency as we join our hearts and spirit together on September 23 which is the full moon. After we shake off the beliefs that we cannot trust ourselves we can step into our global community with conviction and faith of what is possible. From this place of faith let us continue to weave a web of light within and throughout this great earth.

And from this place of trust and faith in ourselves and our circle let us project the best qualities of success, health, love, light, joy, and peace into our circle and out into the planet touching all of life.

We also continue our healing work for our circle as is written up in the instructions for “Creating A Human Web of Light” on this site.

For those in the Northern Hemisphere I wish you a joyous fall! And for those in the Southern Hemisphere may you enjoy the spring and the birth of new life!

Here is a quote from J. Krishnamurti to inspire us to live our lives to the fullest:

“Do you think a bird lives in fear of dying? Do you think a leaf that falls to the ground is afraid of death?

Do you think a bird lives in fear of dying? It meets death when death comes; but it is not concerned about death, it is much too occupied with living, with catching insects, building a nest, singing a song, flying for the very joy of flying.

Have you ever watched birds soaring high up in the air without a beat of their wings, being carried along by the wind? How endlessly they seem to enjoy themselves!

They are not concerned about death. If death comes, it is all right, they are finished. There is no concern about what is going to happen; they are living from moment to moment, are they not? It is we human beings who are always concerned about death – because we are not living. That is the trouble: we are dying, we are not living.”

Transmutation News – August 2010

Summer is a time of deep reflection for me. As I have written in some of my books I seem to have the opposite cycle of most people around the seasons. And for me summer is the time of year where I am drawn within. And this summer is no different as I am exploring a new level of death and rebirth happening within myself.

Since last fall I have had the privilege to do ongoing work with two groups. The intention was together to commit to use the Medicine for the Earth principles on a daily basis and to support each circle member in the work.

When I first dreamed about the work my intention was to see what would happen if a group committed to the focus of radiating divine light. What would happen as we continued to let go of the ego and experience unity consciousness which is love and light.

We have been radiating love and light to our circle each day. And we have been projecting the best qualities onto each of us as I have been asking all of you to do in behalf of our global community.

We have been supporting each other in our night dreams and waking dreams. And we support each other in working through the issues and distractions that keep us from evolving personally and as a community.

Together we stay focused on the spiritual work no matter what is happening in the outer world.

After my first Working in Community training, which took place last November, when we started transfiguring daily for each other I reached such a high. I felt full of light, energetic, and joyful.

And then the shadow side representing the opposite state appeared and although I have felt the love and excitement of the circle I also experienced a struggle within myself.

I have come to an understanding of what this struggle is about for me and wanted to share this with you as it might speak to the process some of you are going through as we keep radiating our light each day.

And the understanding that I am getting is a deeper understanding of “the shaman’s death”.

When one embarks on a spiritual journey there is a process of dying to the ego – spirit sculpting us to be greater spiritual beings. And this journey of the shaman is filled with initiations that keep asking us to let go of our egos and a separate state of consciousness that can lead us to a unity consciousness and an experience of light that brings forth our clairvoyant, psychic and healing gifts.

As our ego is carved away at by our spirit, divine light can shine through. It is like a burning away of what keeps us separate from our spiritual state and what prevents our spirit from fully shining through us.

I have written about this many times in my books and also on the Transmutation News.

I think that the setting the intention of “the experiment” with the working in community groups brought me personally to a new stage of the shaman’s death.

The core of the Medicine for the Earth work has been to let go of the ego and experience a unity consciousness that is love and light.

And I know I have been on a path to live this teaching. But I feel I am at a new gateway of letting go of what “I want” and what “I need”. For as long as the “I” is so present then there is a container around myself and it prevents the ability to be in a unity consciousness.

So my desire to be in a group where the work will lead me to feel safe or filled with joy was a set up for sabotage. For every single desire of the ego is illusory and also cannot be satiated. The ego will always want more so it is a path that leads to despair instead of to true peace and joy.

And it is in the unity consciousness of no boundaries that all the miracles of healing are possible.

We are all on a journey – and we are all at different phases of the path – that will ultimately lead to a whole new evolution of consciousness. I think we need to move away from the focus being on the process of individuation. Individuating I think has been necessary on many levels but it is time to grow away from being so self absorbed into a consciousness of unity. And from there all things are possible.

But first a death must occur before we see the possibilities.

When I was in my late teens I experimented with taking LSD. One night some of my friends had taken LSD and we went to a Grateful Dead Concert. At the concert I was separated from some of my friends.

I went into a real place of “ego death” there was no “me” and there was no “other” we were all one. I was in a glorious state of being.

I wanted to tell my friend Robin something but I knew I could never find her amidst the crowd of people. So I thought to myself that if we are all one I can tell the person standing next to me the message and it would be the same as telling Robin.

And then I had the realization that if we were all one I only had to tell myself the message.

I realize that this experience I had although quite profound was also extreme. It was a clear cellular experience of how by being the change effects all of life. For when there is no “I” and no “other” all consciousness is connected.

Will we get to that non-egoic place of true connection in our lifetime? I do not know the answer to this question. And is it something everyone desires? – probably not.

The point I am trying to make is that our psychic gifts cannot really come forth when we feel separate for the psychic works in a field that demands “no boundaries”.

As we continue our spiritual practices each of us will touch this state of oneness from time to time and we will be the change that continues to move us forward.

When I have had near death experiences and experienced the true unconditional love of “God” there was just the present – no past and no future. The experience of love is timeless. The drinking in of the second – the ultimate present – was delicious.

Love is not conditional. Light is not conditional. But to fully experience it running through every cell of our being we must be absolutely present to the moment.

And the ego has a hard time being present to the moment. For from an egoic standpoint we tend to go back into the past or go into the future. It is not easy to surrender to living second by second.

I don’t know if you have ever taken a road trip where there is only the present moment. There is such a freedom in road trips where we leave our past behind us and stay in the present moment which ultimately leads to a destination.

The shaman’s death in the true sense of the term is letting go of the ego that provides any containment of the spiritual energies coming through to heal and to transform.

The shaman’s death is dying to anything that keeps you from being in the present moment. And that means letting go of outcomes, desires, needs, wants.

As we continue our daily spiritual practices together, leading to an evolution of consciousness, we will all go through some level of the shaman’s death depending on what your soul’s destiny is.

We will all be led on how to go past the containment of the ego. We cannot rush this. We can support each other to be a true presence that has nothing to do with outcome. For any talk about outcome takes us away from the present. And the key to spiritual potential lives in the present moment, the present breath, the present circumstances.

In this way we can truly step into the role of shaman/healer/mystic of being a hollow bone that allows for spirit to dance through us. We allow the flow of spirit. We do have innate spiritual abilities that can heal all that needs healing. But have we closed the door to those deep spiritual realms with our busy minds?

Through finding stillness we can open the door again. Stillness and being in the present is key!

The stillness also creates a natural flow of energy. In truth our bodies have all the cellular information needed to heal. The earth also knows how to heal itself. It truly is our interference in the flow of energy that blocks the natural healing process from happening. There are many benefits to going within, finding the stillness, and allowing spiritual energy to flow.

As I hear from so many people we are all experiencing changes in our lives. Some of the changes involve a loss of relationship, job, a dream, and some are experiencing health challenges.

All these changes involve some form of death which carves away our ego like a river going through and changing the landscape. These deaths do open us to a deeper place of spirit.

Sometimes when we go through these changes we move to a place of disillusionment and start to complain about what life has brought to us instead of understanding that everything that life brings is for us. It is important for our growth and spiritual development to go through the deaths we are all experiencing consciously. It is important to flow with changes instead of resisting the changes.

As I said earlier I have been moving in and out of the shadow states of dissatisfaction. When I visited my helping spirits they gave me an assignment for one week. And I was encouraged to share this assignment with all of you.

The assignment is for one week to see the beauty in everything. No matter what is happening in your life or in the world stretch your imagination to see the beauty in everything and everyone.

One of the core principles of the Medicine for the Earth work is that your perception creates your reality. It is important for us to shift our perception to experience the beauty, awe, and wonder of life. This oftentimes involves a stretch of our imagination. We were given our God given gift of imagination to use and to create with. So let’s create beauty instead of dissatisfaction. Experience how your perception changes leading to a change in your reality.

A path of beauty will begin to unfold in your life that goes beyond outer circumstances.

Do this for one week and notice what happens for you. You might decide that the effects in your own life bring enough rewards to continue to live this ancient spiritual practice.

The full moon is August 24. Take some time “to be” and drop into the depth of your spirit. Dance, sing, or maybe take a walk in nature to leave your ordinary life and thoughts behind you. Experience yourself fully connected to the spiritual energies that flow through you filled with unlimited potential. The light that shines through you is uncontained. Allow it to move, dance, radiate. Connect with the field of oneness. And experience that light weaving within the earth through deep roots. Experience the light weaving throughout the entire planet. Feed the light of the earth. Experience the true beauty of earth, air, water, and the sun which give us life. Experience the beauty of all of life.

Let us continue to project beauty, joy, peace, and health to our global community working together in service to all of life.

And let’s continue our transfiguration work radiating light into our global community.
