Transmutation News – March 2011

In most cross -cultural creation myths it is taught that creation started with a sound, word, song, or chant. And if you think about it there are many examples we can find where discreation, dismemberment, dissolution also has come from sounds, words, and songs.

In Egypt the people came together and sang, “No more police state.” And the dissolution of old forms has begun. We pray together that this transition will lead a new government that can hold to freedom and a democratic way of life.

I started to meditate and reflect on this incredible event in Egypt. For I believe that the song of the people is very significant as we continue to watch old forms around us dissolve.

Initiation is the death, dismembering, and dissolving of old forms/structures/ways of life. And I have come to understand that true initiation is allowing spirit to sing into creation the new forms and new creations. Allowing spirit to sing formlessness into form creates a new evolution of consciousness.

Most of us immediately move into an egoic state of trying to create forms out of the dissolution that are familiar to us and allow us to feel safe. For from an egoic point of view the unknown and formlessness is dangerous. Can we let go of control issues and surrender to spirit at this important time of initiation? Do we try and force a rebirth with recreating old forms that do not represent the evolution of spirit moving through us?

About a month I was communicating with Megan McFeely via email about an interview we did together last year. And I was writing about my process of learning to surrender to the unknown.

She sent me a great quote I would like to share with you:

“When the forms of an old culture are dying, the new culture is created by a few people who are not afraid to be insecure.” – Rudolf Bahro

I have also been thinking about how this power of word and song creating positive dissolution is coming out of the Middle East where there was once such a rich ancient civilization that respected the deep mysteries. This civilization ended giving birth to the rise of a culture which seems to be dying to something new again.

Surrender seems to be a key issue for us during this rich time of transition and initiation. And I would like to share some more reflections I have had recently.

When I lecture on the Medicine for the Earth practices I always talk about the formula for transmutation: intention + union + love + harmony + concentration + focus + imagination. And I give stories and examples of each of these elements and how they work together to create personal and global healing as I share in my book Medicine for the Earth.

As I talk about love I typically say I hope I do not have to explain love. I also share that it is love that heals versus methods or techniques. For truly the power of love to create healing and transformation is unlimited. Love creates miracles.

Now the question arises for me of do we really understand love? I think we all have an understanding of love and I think the reason we are born into this world and into a body is to learn about love. And all living beings want to be loved. But as an egoic being who perceives itself as separate from the divine source can we truly experience the true nature of love?

When the spiritual masters of past and present times have performed miraculous healings they have all been in a state of oneness where true love flows through from the power of the universe. And love is not a concept that can be understood or rationalized. It is an energy that either you experience or don’t. Love is a formless energy that has no bounds just like the energy of light and how we can radiate light.

Over the last couple of years I have given the exercise on the Transmutation News to perform a meditation to experience the love that went into your creation. And if we can really experience this love on a cellular level everything in our life changes.

But at the same time the nature of human beings is to try and understand energies. And there is no way to understand the energy of love and light.

If we really experienced true unconditional love of source and allowed that to flow through us would we be seeing the illnesses and challenges we are facing today? And if love does heal how do we move our rational mind out of the way and surrender to this pure power? This love is in our cellular memory as we were created from unconditional love. But again it is the type of love that transcends and is beyond our egoic understanding.

The more we try and strive the more we separate from the true power of love. For the act of trying creates separation.

So what I am suggesting? What would happen if we ask the universe, God, the goddess, the divine, to help us? What would happen if we say, “Thank you for helping me open to your love”? What would happen if we stop trying to understand how to get to such a luminous state of being and just open and give thanks for the experience of love?

If you feel like you have been trying too hard to reach a luminous spiritual state it might be time to simply open and surrender to the creative force of the universe to experience the power of true unconditional love. And it is only in the experience can we be a channel for that love to flow through us to heal.

When life circumstances continue to pull you out of yourself, keep holding the question: How do I regain my inner center and state of peace, joy, and love – my true nature? Let the universe respond to this call.

Now I do want to say that there is a process that will occur as you open your heart to bring through unconditional love.

First we need to move the energy from our minds into our heart. And when we do this we find it is time to work on the unexplored and unexpressed emotions that live in our heart. Denial is just one more block to being able to expand on a heart level.

You might find that you need to seek out help from a psychotherapist, or work with spiritual practices to help you get in touch with what emotions have not been worked through, or that you need to find physical forms of expression, or a combination of all the above.

Information feeds the mind and you might need to start to explore what feeds your heart.

Also love means being able to speak the truth. So I am not saying that as you open your heart you should not speak the truth of what your heart feels whether you are feeling pain around personal and/or global issues. Again denial does not create the heart opening needed to allow true love to flow through.

And you must learn how to ground heart energies through your body. Many of us keep our energies engaged in rational minds. But to be a true vessel for love and spiritual energies we must allow the energy to move down from our heads throughout our entire body and into the earth.

One form of disconnection that we have been working with over the years has been the disconnection from source when we only acknowledge the egoic part of ourselves. Another form of disconnection is when we separate our heads from our hearts. And this is a disconnection that also must be healed for true healing and transformation to take place.

As in the Northern Hemisphere we approach the spring equinox we tend to think of new growth bursting forth. We all know how love feeds the new growth, flowers, plants, blossoms, vegetables etc. We all have witnessed the difference of a garden tended with love. Do we try to give love to a garden? Or is this just a state of being?

Do we try and give love to a baby? Do we try and give love to a family member or a life partner? Or with true love do we just enter into a state of being?

I am raising all these questions as it seems like we are experiencing a quickening on the planet. And the time is now to experience that true power of love flowing through us. Yet it is a state that cannot be learned by following a rational path of “education”. We need the divine to help us to experience the strength and beauty of this power.

Start to decree everyday I give thanks to the divine force, the creative force of the universe, source to help me to open to the experience of love that went into my creation. Keep this up everyday. As we open together as a global community love can once again flow through each and everyone of us creating healing and transformation.

On March 20 those of us in the Northern Hemisphere celebrate the spring equinox. And those of us in the Southern Hemisphere are moving into autumn.

Go outside and ground yourself to the earth. Feel the energy of love for life moving down from a mental concept to a true energy that feeds you, all of the life, and the earth and the elements.

Ask your heart what will feed your heart and the earth?

On this day let us feed the bright energies of life.

When you wake up in the morning look at yourself in the mirror and reflect on the shine in your eyes and the brightness that you are radiating. Even if you do not perceive yourself as bright acknowledge that you are. Our perception creates our reality. When you feed your light your light shines through you.

And with everyone you talk to during this day comment on how their eyes are shining today or how bright and wonderful they look. Watch what happens as you do this. I can guarantee you that you will start a chain reaction of bright smiles whereever you are willing to acknowledge the light in all you meet.

In spring we look forward to the brightness of new life. We all know how new life blossoming into the world shines. I have been around many people who are dying. And it is so common that as people prepare to die they shine so brilliantly as their spirit shines through them. So even as we celebrate the time of autumn and letting go of the old we see spirit shining through what is preparing to fall back into the earth.

In birth and death we radiate light as light shines through us strongly as we are so close to spirit in these cycles of life. And we always have the choice to choose oneness over separation and shine every day of our lives. And through acknowledging the light in others we help them shine too. Be a light in the world and help others to be a light too. Through the transformative power of light and love we move together in this next phase of evolution. And as I wrote about last month we create a strong spirit boat to carry us through the waters of change.

I wrote this part of the Transmutation News on a day in Santa Fe, New Mexico where it had snowed and then the sun came out. Right after I wrote about feeding the light in others a wind came up blowing the snow in front of my window. As the sun came through the snow flakes I was in awe of the brilliance of sparkling lights filling the air. This was a good omen!

The full moon is March 19. Let us shine together as one beautiful web of light. Deepen your experience into oneness. Sing, dance, meditate to fully move out of a state of separation and become a vessel for light and love to move through.

And let us acknowledge the light shining through each and every one in our global community.

For those of you new to reading The Transmutation News please visit “Creating A Human Web of Light” on the homepage of this site for the instructions for our full moon ceremonies.

To all of you celebrating the equinox, our global community wishes you a joyous spring or autumn. Open to love and be a channel for that love. Connect your heartbeat with the heartbeat of the earth and the web of life. And sing in joy for gratitude for your life!

Transmutation News – February 2011

Through the month of January we watched many tragedies. We saw the tragedy of political intolerance and emotional instability in the shootings in Arizona. We watched how the waters are reflecting our state of imbalance as floods devastated parts of Australia and Brazil. We watched the violence in Tunisia as people expressed their dissatisfaction with how the country was being run. These are just a few examples of challenging global events.

And due to these tragedies we also saw the strength of the human spirit shining through as well as communities coming together to help those in need.

We continue to see the best of humans and we are also reminded of the effects of what happens when we do not treat others and the earth with honor and respect.

I checked in with Terri who lives in the part of Australia that was so severely flooded. Terri is a brilliant shamanic practitioner and has been a devoted member of our global community as she is so committed to working with the information written about in each Transmutation News.

I wanted to share part of the email Terri sent to me. For it is an example of the power of community coming together to help each other. It talks about the strength of the human spirit. And it also speaks to how the earth heals herself and has a plan that from an egoic/rational perspective we just don’t always understand.

From Terri:
“I have just returned from helping at a Catholic Church delivering lunches to people with washed out homes and no power. The spirit of the human army (10s of thousands of regular neighbourly helpers) that has gone out to help people in their hour of need is quite extraordinary!

The spirit of the people I delivered to today are well and truly shining, with brave and cheery hearts! The pain of loss is there, but they rise above it.

The way people came together to just do what was needed at any given time without asking for any permission from local or federal government authorities worked so well. The people’s authority came from within their hearts and minds and they took action to help.

Mother nature is greening up Australia after years of drought. Species of plants popping up, thought to be extinct, not seen in two decades are exciting the biologists!”

This continues to be a time where we are being asked to make changes in how we live our lives and learning about the impact on our behavior of others and the earth itself.

In life I think we all find that the lessons we learn seem to keep spiraling back around to create deeper and deeper levels of change.

One of the issues that keeps spiraling around for me is the issue of protection. And what I mean by protection is the ability of one person or a group of people to protect others from some level of suffering – physically, emotionally, or spiritually.

For there is a part of all of us that wants to protect loved ones from suffering.

Although this is an issue I have looked at throughout my life I feel that during 2010 the universe brought me situations to take me to a deeper level of seeing how it is not possible to control what life brings to and for any of us.

I have been taking care of my 96-year-old parents. They have an amazing strength of spirit and have risen to meet challenges that no one thought they would get through. And at the same time my perception of them is that on a physical level they are quite frail. So in choosing to be around them in the way I am “my mother instinct” comes out and I want to protect them.

Last fall I found the more I tried to protect them the more situations were created that were beyond my control. The lesson for me was how to be there for them, provide comfort, see them as spiritual beings, and let go of trying to control what life brought to them. For truly they are on their own life journey.

As I reflected on all the lessons I learned from my experiences last fall I felt that I was learning some important lessons in my role as a teacher. Again these were lessons I had gotten before. I just felt like my life journey was leading me to a deeper level of knowledge.

There are so many books, lectures, and workshops that are showing people how to shift out of a dense state of consciousness. These teachings help us to embrace ancient spiritual practices that remind us that we are spirit, we are divine, we are light, we are love and we are loved, and that we are connected to the web of life.

The lessons that life is bringing for all of us right now is to help us tap into our spiritual world where our inner wisdom and inner spirit can shine through the darkness and challenges that we are faced with.

For me the continual reminder is that I cannot do the work for another. Every person must find the strength of his/her inner spirit and stand up and do the work needed to heal, transform, and then create a better life.

For those of us already doing the spiritual work we must continue to deepen how we live the work. As we shine our lights then people want to know how they can shine too. So the true teaching comes from “being” rather than trying to do something to change our outer world or by trying to get another person to change. We have to be the energy.

This takes us back to the core inspiration of the Medicine for the Earth work that it is who you become that changes the world and not what you do. For the best way to be a true leader right now is to just “be” the teaching. Then people want to experience the state of joy, peace, kindness, love, and light that they perceive in you. But to try and convince people to do the work or to even think you can do the work for them is a misperception. And for those of us who want to protect others from suffering we end up crippling them in the end. For those who have the greatest transformations and healing are people who go within and find the strength of spirit that can embrace and transform all that life brings for them.

Being human and living here on earth is being in “earth school”. And part of the learning is how to surrender to “Thy Will be Done” and stop trying to control life as an egoic being that wants to feel safe and secure. When I use the term “Thy Will be Done” it refers to surrendering to spirit. We have to find the term and belief system that works for us whether this means our higher self, our divine light, oneness, God, the goddess, the power of the universe, our helping spirits, etc.

The teaching is that we must evolve beyond our controlling egos, surrender to spirit, and know that our divine spirit will rise to all that life brings to us. The stronger we can become on a spiritual level we can be role models for others to do the same.

Another part of being the energy has to do with learning how to hold the space for others and being a light in the midst of change and chaos.

For the chaos created by the dissolution of a way of life that no longer works will continue. We can’t say well I will do my spiritual practices once life calms down for me or when a certain situation I am facing resolves itself.

We must continue to transmute/transform the depth of emotions that are triggered by events and people who come into our lives. We must continue to explore the gifts of the teachings given to us so we can transform and evolve to a new way of being in the world.

It is important to take time out from what is happening in our lives and merge into the one pulsation of energy that has great power to heal. In this state we can feed the collective with compassion and kindness.

When we become one pulsation of energy this does add to the breakdown of a reality that no longer works. For the pulsation of energy leads to transformation and healing. This breakdown feels like chaos to our egoic selves that are lost in the illusion of separation. When we feel like we have moved into chaos this is a time to hold a strong intention to “be the energy” of love and light so that energy is part of the recreation and what is being woven into the new fabric of reality.

There are huge waves of change flowing through the planet. There are times when the waves are smooth and fun to play in. And there are times when the waves are turbulent and we feel like we are being tossed around. This is all part of nature. For the cycles of nature include the storms and the times of calm.

Part of riding the waves has to do with “the boat” you have built. The depth of your spiritual practice builds a strong boat to ride the waves. The connection with our global community also has created a strong boat where we can ride the waves together.

Think of the difference of riding the waves in a raft that is filled with holes versus a strong large boat. Our spiritual practices and our spiritual connections create a strong container that holds strong in the midst of the waves of change. You can rely on this boat to hold you through whatever comes.

We are very lucky to have strong spiritual practices to carry us and a strong global community to hold us. And part of strengthening our container is to feel gratitude for how we are being held right now with love and light through the breath and the cycles of the one pulsation of life.

Over the years we have been working together to dream into being the world we wish to live in. We have been using all of our senses of seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, and tasting what such a world would be like as if our creation had already manifested. I wrote about this practice in Medicine for the Earth, How to Thrive in Changing Times, and Awakening to the Spirit World.

Here is another way to work with this practice. Work with the personal experience of seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, and tasting yourself as being centered, filled with inner joy and inner peace, and shining your light no matter what is happening in the outside world. Deepen the sensations of beauty as you use your imagination to form your creation.

What would you look like in this state of being and how would you see the world around you?

How would the sounds of nature feed your joyful bright state?

What would the feelings be as light flowed through you and throughout every cell of your being? And how would it feel to walk on the earth and touch all that is alive?

How would the smell of fragrances and tastes of food become heightened as you reach such a state of light?

Experience this state as if you are living filled with radiance, love, joy, and peace right now.

You have achieved a heightened state of consciousness now! Experience it fully. And so it is.

Along with this practice continue to go within to your inner garden. Continue to plant small areas of your garden with seeds of good memories and what you are grateful for.

To deepen your work in your inner garden take some time to meditate or journey and merge with the earth in your garden. Observe how healthy the soil is by examining the health and strength of the flowers and plants that are growing out of the earth. This will give you some clues to the care that your inner garden requires.

February 18 is the full moon. We have been using the time of the full moon to strengthen the web of light that all of life is part of. And we have been using the full moon to radiate light into our global community helping to heal those who are struggling.

Let us refocus our energies together as we allow that which keeps us separate to drop away. And feel our light radiating and expanding into one pulsation transmitting love and light within and throughout the web of light.

And let us continue to strengthen our container, our spiritual boat, as a global community by radiating love and light to all connected to our circle so committed to holding strong together as we move into oneness.

Transmutation News – January 2011

Choosing Joy!

I invite you to take a minute to close your eyes and take some deep breaths. Put your hands on your heart and feel yourself breathing through your heart. Think about how much you love the earth and how grateful you are for your life. And now let us wish everyone in our global community a blessed New Year!

In the last few months I have been writing quite a bit about death, letting go and surrendering. For with every change and transition there is a death. But we also have to keep in mind that death is not an end. You cannot destroy energy – energy transforms. Fear keeps us in a contracted state and when we can finally surrender and let go we experience an expanded state of awareness.

At some point you have to decide for yourself when it is time to start to re-imagine and rebuild a new path that leads to a new life. At some point we have to choose to branch out or spiral out from a path of pain and suffering and start to take all that energy that is available that has been let go of to recreate something new.

You will know inside yourself when the time has come to say okay I have died to what needs to be let of go of for now and it is time to focus on the rebirth. You will know when it is time to experience the phoenix rising up anew out of the flames.

The information I have received on this from my own helping spirits has given me a way to begin and once again feel tremendous hope. I am a person who gets overwhelmed when a clear path is not shown to me.

For myself I can’t just go from death of old beliefs and an old way of life to a whole new life created instantaneously. I need baby steps of where to put my foot next.

I was shown that it is time to start to recultivate my inner garden. I have been writing about that everything is born from within us. Like plants and trees growing strong roots into the earth a plant grows from the seeds that we plant. If we plant seeds of fear, sadness, hopelessness that is what will grow in both our inner and outer garden. For as above, so below, as within, so without.

I was given an exercise to start to slowly replant my garden so that I do not overwhelmed. I was told to start with just a very small circle in my garden – maybe the size of a small to medium sized pot that I would grow a plant in. I was told to imagine this small plot of land in my inner garden. And with this very small area in my garden I was told to imagine myself pouring in love and nurturance to fertilize the soil. Then using the principles of creating new neural pathways to start to imagine a simple happy memory feeding my garden.

Last month to end the year I asked us all to focus on a simple good memory to end the year with. Examples might be eating a favorite food, focusing on a beautiful image from nature, a favorite scent, a great feeling, or hearing a wonderful sound such as birds singing, water flowing, the sound of gentle breezes.

If everyday and throughout the day you can take a simple joyful memory and plant it in your small plot in your inner garden this joyful memory can take root. This will impact the new rebirth and a spring filled with hope and possibilities. This allows for a rebirth of life that spirals away from the suffering of what you have let go of.

But you need to create a partnership with your brain to do this. As we birth the new into the world spiritually with the thoughts and words we use we must also team up with up with our brain and activate new neural pathways that will help lead us to our desired outcome.

As you work with your brain by creating new neural pathways this helps to rebuild your inner beliefs and thoughts leading to a new joyful way of life.

Throughout life we will continue to spiral through cycles of death and rebirth. It is important to remember the rebirth part of the cycle. And as we birth a new personal and collective world we must plant the seeds, be an architect and imagine the new plan, and sculpt a new world. At some point as the old fabric of reality dissolves the choice of what you wish to create is in your hands.

For me slow and steady is helpful instead of creating too big of a vision that I don’t know how to manifest. Starting with planting joyful memories that can grow into joyful plants and a joyful way of life is a good start.

For this month of January as we begin a New Year I ask you to join me in finding a small plot in your inner garden and start fertilizing it with love and light and fill it with happy memories. Death will continue throughout the collective of old ways that no longer serve life. Some of us have to be willing to plant the new seeds of a harmonious and joyful way of life.

I also received a very important message from my helping spirits about the power of pride. Many of us in the spiritual community get nervous when we talk about pride as often we associate being proud or too filled with pride with being too egotistical.

My helping spirits gave me a different perspective on pride (in the most positive sense of the word) that I had not considered. As I have written over the years love is an important energy that fuels the power of our creation. Having passion for what we are doing also fuels what we can manifest in the world.

My spirits shared with me that having pride in our work is powerful fuel that also adds to the success of our work and also creates a larger field of energy around what we are manifesting. This larger field of energy attracts success.

As we feed our garden with happy memories I also invite all of you to take some time to feel pride for all the work you have been doing in service to all of life on the planet. Infuse your creation work with pride. This is another step in empowering our ability to manifest the world we wish to live in. And let’s give thanks to each other for the work we continue to do. I ask each of you to receive the thanks from our global community with pride!

And let’s keep us the work of expanding into one field of energy that pulses in oneness, unity, love and light creating the transformation needed to manifest harmony and peace on this great earth. Remember that your words and thoughts continue to be transmitted into the field of energy of the planet. Be conscious of what you are transmitting.

Let us join our hearts together in one pulsation as we continue to weave a brilliant web of light throughout and within our planet on the full moon which is January 19. Feel the radiance and love infusing the web of life.
