DEEPENING OUR PRACTICE WITH MEDICINE FOR THE EARTH
I have been writing the Transmutation News since 1998, and I am committed to continue writing the monthly column. I get quite a lot of feedback from readers all over the world that the monthly inspiration helps people to stay focused on the work to be positive changemakers in the world. And we have over 7,000 people from all over the world signed up to get the Transmutation News delivered to their inbox each month.
Our lessons are exponentially increasing and as time is speeding up sometimes we need more reminders of how to stay focused and on track with our spiritual work. I have decided to create a new online experience where I would talk about the material I have been writing about so we can deepen our spiritual work together.
When I wrote my book Medicine for the Earth I researched spiritual teachings that spoke to miraculous healings. And as I continue my research on this topic I keep being reminded that what I wrote about holds keys that so many spiritual traditions have been teaching for thousands of years. We just need to stay focused on the work to create positive changes.
The course will be for one hour every other month beginning in April 2012. The course will take place on a Sunday at 11 AM Mountain Standard Time. In this way people in other countries will be able to watch and/or listen to my talk live.
Each session will contain:
A deeper teaching from the Transmutation News. A lecture on a teaching out of my book Medicine for the Earth or How to Thrive in Changing Times. I will lead a practice for all of us to do together. I will also suggest a ceremony for the group to work with after the call. In this way we can focus together on a place on the planet or on an issue/situation that needs our attention.
This course is designed for readers of The Transmutation News. I want to inspire people to continue the spiritual practices I continue to write about no matter what is happening in the external world.
I will focus on the current times/shifts/waves we are riding together at the present time of each session. And the focus will be on working with environmental and planetary issues.

A couple of years ago I taught a course titled “Working in Community”. Participants met for a four-day workshop. We focused on how we can use our thoughts and words to change our personal life and be in service to all of life on the planet. We learned how to dream into being the world we wish to live in. And we looked to how we could use the practices of gratitude, blessings, and transfiguration to support our personal lives and also the community we created.
We then did two years of regular teleconferencing where I lectured and led spiritual practices. And we created a yahoo group where we could share our experiences of doing this incredible work for each other and ourselves.
This January I am starting a six-month online course that will be based on the Working in Community course. Once a month for six months I will teach a live session where I will lecture on material and lead spiritual practices to help anchor the work. There will be a forum that I will be part of where we can share our experiences of keeping up with the practices.
The intention will be to use spiritual practices to help ourselves but also make a commitment to radiate light and send blessings to all in the course. And we will continue to share with each other over the six months on the online forum created by Sounds True.
In this online course we will create a virtual community committed to creating the inner landscape needed to give solid results in the outer world. We will learn to concentrate our thoughts and words so that we can produce our desired goal. And we will work together in full support of each other so that each person’s goals are exponentially met by the group’s energy.
This training is residential and is based on Sandra Ingerman’s books Soul Retrieval: Mending the Fragmented Self and Welcome Home: Following Your Soul’s Journey Home and the CD program “The Soul Retrieval Journey” produced by Sounds True.
The five-day workshop is designed exclusively for those who wish to bring shamanic healing techniques into their practice with others, not for personal healing. Participants will be trained to work with the issue of soul loss, explore the experience of partial soul loss resulting from personal trauma and illness, and will learn how to track a person’s soul and return lost essence to that individual.
Particular emphasis will be placed on integrating this potent healing process in a modern day culture. Training will be given on developing communication skills that help the practitioner tell healing stories to their clients based on the spiritual information received in their journeys.
The course also focuses on life after soul retrieval… how to create a healthier life after healing has taken place. Individuals attending the training will perform and receive a soul retrieval during the course of the week, and are given extensive instruction on how to work with clients after a soul retrieval through the use of shamanic journeying, ritual, and ceremony. This work results in creating long term healing.
Success at shamanic journeying and good contact with power animals and/or teachers in non-ordinary reality is essential for participation. Please do not enroll if you are not confident with your journeying skills.

August 12 - 17, 2012 at Sunrise Springs Retreat and Conference Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This is a residential course.
The course starts on Sunday evening with dinner and ends at Friday noon with lunch to follow.
Please note: This workshop is scheduled before Santa Fe Indian Market which is August 18-19. This is an amazing event as Native people from around the United States gather to show and sell their crafts. This is the most popular event in Santa Fe. People make reservations from all over the world to come to Santa Fe to attend this weekend event.
In past workshops where I have scheduled a workshop before Indian Market participants have stayed at Sunrise Springs with their partners and family to create a wonderful holiday.
This training based on the information in Medicine for the Earth teaches how to transform personal and environmental pollution by learning how to transmute negative beliefs, attitudes, and energy which is generated by emotions.
The process continues with learning how to work in cooperation with helping spirits and the spirits of the land as well as getting in touch with our own internal divine nature to create healing and transmutation.
The training includes learning about working in cooperation with all the elements earth, water, air, fire. Other key elements and spiritual practices will also be explored which can be easily incorporated into daily life. These methods are necessary and helpful for transforming and transmuting environmental and personal toxins.
With spiritual practices and learning how to shift our consciousness we can add to all the brilliant environmental work going on today. But we must learn the power of integrating spiritual work into our daily lives. And this is the major theme of this training.
Participants will also take part ceremonies to transmute water and other substances as well as to transmute planetary problems. There will be a fire ceremony to help us manifest our visions.
Because the etiology of illness today is different from ancient times, our healing methods must be updated to deal with modern-day illness such as cancer and immune deficiency problems caused by environmental pollution.
Sandra will teach new methods of healing based on the Medicine for the Earth work that can be integrated into a shamanic healing practice.
The ceremonial work done as a group in collaboration with community and the spirits is truly a life transforming experience.

Bio Betsy
Betsy Bergstrom is a full-time shamanic teacher and practitioner, considered by many to be one of the foremost workshop leaders specializing in depossesion methods teaching in the world today.

For many of us the word “shaman” calls to mind a spiritual healer steeped in secret knowledge and mysterious powers. But in this workshop, based on Sandra Ingerman’s book Shamanic Journeying: A Beginner’s Guide, drumming will be used to help participants directly experience the shamanic journey.
